Just in time for CES 2020, drone innovator PowerVision has released its latest UAV, the PowerEgg X. It comes in two models, the Explorer and the Wizard. These latest flyers are a follow-up to the 2016 PowerEgg, and brings with them three years' worth of upgrades and enhancements, including a refined design and bolstered hardware. Both PowerEgg X models boast new functionality, which allows them to operate as three separate devices: a high-performance drone, an autonomous personal AI camera, and as a handheld 3-axis camera.

Starting with the drone mode, both PowerEgg X models feature several impressive upgrades, including a 1/2.8" CMOS sensor that can capture 4K60 video and 12MP stills, facial recognition with deep learning tech, and hand-gesture control. They also boast several features rarely seen in commercial drones: they can narrate footage in real time using PowerVision's new SyncVoice tech, and the Wizard can fly in the rain, thanks to its included waterproof housing.

The Wizard can even perform water takeoffs and landings with the included floats. When operated as a drone, the PowerEgg X Explorer and Wizard give users up to 30 minutes of flight time, even in strong winds, which puts them in competition for best battery performance on the market.

In handheld mode, they become a 3-axis gimbal-stabilized handheld camera that can shoot super-smooth UHD video. On top of that, the PowerEgg X's already impressive battery life jumps up to 3.5 hours, so users can shoot and share for extended periods of time.

With their deep feature set and all-in-one functionality, the new PowerEgg X line are exciting new entries into the drone market, which might even warrant their own special classification. The Explorer and the Wizard are available now at B&H.

Any idea how soon you will be getting the power egg x wizard edition in stock, I currently have one pre-ordered.
