RED Releases Production Packs and Updated Components for Cinema Cameras

RED is releasing new Production Packs with an updated DSMC3 7” LCD Monitor and a new Tactical Top Plate with Battery Adapter Plus (V-Lock) to better outfit cinematographers for all their production needs. Bundles included in this release come with the following base cine cameras: the KOMODO-X, V-RAPTOR 8K, V-RAPTOR 8K S35, V-RAPTOR [X], and the V-RAPTOR XL [X].

The updated DSMC3 7” LCD monitor features many of the same highlights as the original, including daylight-viewing capabilities, wide 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and 1920 x 1200 native resolution. This means a lot of the advanced monitoring characteristics remain largely the same. What has been improved is the direct-mounting interface–RED has switched out the previous tilting Pogo mount with a Rigid Hinge mount. This hinge is more rugged for documentary film and other field-production applications. It still allows you to tilt the monitor freely.

While your RED cinema camera might come with a battery plate already integrated into the camera body, the Tactical Top Plate with Battery Adapter Plus allows you to accommodate larger batteries to power more accessories on your rig. The plate secures to the top of your V-RAPTOR and interfaces with the V-lock battery adapter via two, 2-pin Aux outputs, assistant side LED light, multiple ¼”-20 and 3/8”-16 mounting threads, and a Pogo connection system. The adapter itself has a 6-pin DC input port to power both your camera and its attached accessories at the same time. A P-Tap/D-Tap port with an E-Fuse safety system and Pogo connection interface with the top plate to complete the connections.
