The Audio Department at B&H is pleased to introduce the Roland V-800HD Mark II multi-format video switcher. Sporting a cleaner, brighter look, this eight-channel, multi-format model has been updated to provide an improved workflow. This refreshed version of the V-800HD adds a dedicated AUX bus of layer switches and gain level knobs for its two keying functions. Like its predecessor, the V-800HD Mk II is a true multi-format mixer where input sources are not required to be matched to output resolutions. Each of the 16 inputs (4 x SKI, 4x composite, 4x DVI-HDMI, 4x RGB/component) has an integrated, broadcast-quality scaler to adjust each source to any chosen output resolutions.

The V-800HD Mark II fills the bill for any event or program requiring live video switching or streaming. A wide array of both digital and analog inputs enables the V-800HD Mark to switch among various pro or consumer video cameras, media players, and computer sources. This video switcher’s 4:4:4/10-bit color processing outputs crisp, accurate images on displays and projector screens both large and small. For improved visibility on the switcher interface, signal buttons now have completely illuminated LED surfaces rather than the partially illuminated/partially opaque bus buttons of the prior model. The V-800HD Mark II includes an improved Chroma Key function with a more natural color space and the ability to accept an external key, opening the way to composite titles and transparently layered clips.

Experienced operators can make use of this switcher’s expansive feature set, while more novice users will appreciate its intuitive interface. One-touch memory recall is available for complex setting choices, and two assignable still images can be used for logos or “safety” shots. Smaller-scale productions looking to boost their output selections will appreciate the ability to create three “angles” from a single camera source using the V-800HD Mark II’s multi-zoom function. Supporting video resolutions all the way from those of “smart” devices and ranging up to 1080p, the Roland V-800HD Mark II is suitable for music, theater, houses of worship, and media-streaming production companies.
