We here at B&H are happy to introduce six of of Telmax’s new line of teleprompters that span the range of full-blown, monitor-included prompters ranging in size from 15 to 19", as well as a smaller prompter setup, designed to work with your iPad or Android tablet. The Telmax EL15, EL17, and EL19 prompters are designed as entry-level studio monitors that feature a camera sled with two positions, so you can reconfigure the prompter quickly to support cameras ranging from small camcorders to full-size ENG rigs. This adjustment is a quick and easy process that does not require the use of tools; you just remove four thumbscrews, reposition the camera sled vertically or horizontally, and secure the rig with the four thumbscrews. Although designed for use in a studio, even the largest of the three rigs can tuck easily into a case for storage or transport to locations, where its flexibility and simplicity make for quick setup and breakdown.
These three prompters each include the camera sled and balance plate so you can adjust the balance on your tripod. Also included with each is a monitor with VGA input for displaying text on the 70/30 mirror and Telemax’s ZaPrompt Pro prompting software, for Mac and Windows. If you are using an iPad or Android tablet, Telmax has you covered with three offerings. The first is the SuperStar Standard teleprompter. This setup mounts on a separate tripod or C-stand in front of the camera, great for leaving the prompter set up and ready to go at a moment’s notice while you grab your camera and tripod to head out to shoot. It features 70/30 mirrored glass and supports 10" tablets. Next up is the SuperStar Deluxe, which is similar to the SuperStar Standard, except the Deluxe comes with a camera sled on which you mount your camera and the prompter. Although you can set up the Deluxe as a free-standing prompter, building it as a single unit allows you to pan and tilt without having to worry about coming away from the back of the prompter. Rounding out the offerings of iPad/Android tablet prompters is the Econ One Tablet Prompter. It features an adjustable cradle that supports standard 9" diagonal tablets without a protective case and, in many instances, you can mount your tablet on the Econ One prompter while it is still in its case. Whether you are looking for a studio-style prompter or want to use your iPad or Android tablet to drive your prompter, Telmax has an option worth checking out.
