SlingStudio Updates Firmware

3Share

With units being out in the field for several months, SlingStudio has been receiving feedback from the scores of users of its products and has distilled this information into the latest product update. Several major updates included in the latest firmware include the following:

• Custom RTMP for live broadcasting: Expand beyond Facebook and YouTube streaming with access to any platform that employs RTMP (Real-Time Messaging Protocol), such as Twitter, Periscope, Livestream, and Ustream. Moreover, multiple RTMP destinations can be streamed to at once via services such as Restream.io.

• Scheduled broadcasts for Facebook Live: You can now schedule your broadcasts and post the broadcast link in Facebook groups and events in advance.

• Enhanced network connectivity: Connect to hidden Wi-Fi networks and public networks that require second-level authentication. With this connectivity, you can broadcast on the go, even from local coffee shops and universities.

• Updated video transition options: Options to fade to and from black are now available, in addition to being able to set duration times from 0.5 to 5 seconds.

• Logo and watermark pinning: Pin a logo or watermark to be displayed throughout the entirety of the broadcast.

• Easier switching of up to 10 video sources: Inside the Console app, you can now drag-and-drop sources for easier access to a larger number of video sources.

• Configurable HDMI output settings: To increase the flexibility of the HDMI output, you can change the resolution and color space of the HDMI output to match input settings for displays, recorders, or encoders.

Further improvements inside the app and on the SlingStudio consist of an improved dashboard, which better displays hotspot quality, offers enhanced bit-rate recommendations depending on the connection conditions, faster storage formatting, instant replay from recorded footage, and a new Mac-based Console app for desktop or laptop control.

Extremely frustrated with the SlingStudio hub.  After months of flawless performance, I suddenly was unablet to create project.  I have tried everything, and was finally told (after six long chats with support), that I had to wait for the next firmware.  Am I the only one with this problem?

Still waiting on Android Galaxy Tab support. Where's it at ?

At this time the SlingStudio Console App is for iOS and Mac OS X, thanks to this new firmware, only.  The Manufacture has not released any specifics about an Android Version of the SlingStudio Console App.  We are not aware of when and if such an App will be released at this time, but feel free to keep an eye on our website.  When updates are released we will announce them.
