This adapter simplifies focusing when using an anamorphic adapter on your taking lens. Normally you must adjust focus on the taking lens and adapter to get a sharp image; however, with this rangefinder adapter, you set the taking lens and anamorphic adapter to infinity and then you can pull focus on the Rangefinder Cine Adapter without adjusting either the taking lens or the anamorphic adapter.
This adapter mounts on lenses with 77mm front threads, and features standard 0.8 MOD cine-style gear that interfaces with follow focus units or lens motors. Marked with only near and far focus, it has a generous rotation range and enables focusing from approximately 3.5 feet to infinity. Although designed for anamorphic adapters, the Rangefinder Cine Adapter itself has no anamorphic effect on your image; which means it is also a great tool when using lenses without hard stops, because you can mount this adapter and essentially add hard stops and a focus ring gear to your endlessly spinning lens.
