The full Camera Cage is custom-fit to the Z8 and locks your camera in place using 1/4"-20 and locating screws. Maintain access to your controls, card slots, battery door, and tilting LCD touchscreen with the cage’s form-fitted design. Multiple 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 mounting threads throughout the cage offer places to attach articulating arms and cable clamps to your camera. An ARRI 3/8"-16 thread, NATO rail, and cold-shoe mount can support side/top handles or a shotgun microphone.
Transitioning from handheld to stabilized shooting is a breeze, thanks to the cage’s built-in Arca-type base, which is compatible with DJI RS series gimbals and select tripod base plates. Integrate a hand strap or QD (Quick Detach) strap buckle into the cage’s strap holes and QD mounts.
If you’re looking for improved handheld stabilization to perform low-angle shots, look no further than the Handled Camera Cage Kit. The kit includes the main camera cage and a top handle, which attaches to the cage via ARRI 3/8"-16 anti-twist screw. Not only does it add an additional handgrip, but the handle boasts additional mounting threads, cold-shoe mounts, and a single 15mm rod bracket.
The Z8 camera’s upgraded design renders the use of a vertical battery grip optional for easier gimbal mounting. But, if you do want that additional power boost and choose to equip it, SmallRig has you covered with a Camera Cage that accommodates the MB-N12 Power Battery Pack. This cage boasts a lot of the same mounting features as the main cage, while offering access to the battery grip’s door. The bottom and side of the cage have integrated Arca-type mounts for portrait and landscape shooting. Your entire camera and battery grip unit are secured inside via M2.5 locking screws and single 1/4"-20 screw.
