So, you want to upgrade to a higher-resolution camera to shoot video on the move, track a walker or a jogger, or record a vlog in multiple locations, but dragging a tripod, handheld rig, or gimbal stabilizer is too heavy, bulky, or you need to be stealthy, and bulky pro camcorders are out of reach. Good news: Sony has just announced the new FDR-AX43 UHD 4K Handycam that incorporates a gimbal stabilizer right into the body of the camera, while providing high-quality UHD 4K video recording to fulfill your busy production needs. With its compact size, any Handycam user can appreciate its easy handling and simple interface, but professionals can also appreciate the high resolution and bitrate, the 30x 4K zoom, the quality Zeiss lens, and the ability to record rock-steady tracking shots.

Just like its predecessor, the FDR-AX53, the AX43 features the "BOSS" system (Balanced Optical SteadyShot) in addition to a new built-in gimbal stabilizer to create even more silky-smooth motion shots. It maintains the same wide 26.8mm f/2.0 Zeiss lens with a 20x zoom, flare-protection coatings, and deep contrast that maintain the famous "Zeiss look." The enhanced 30x 4K zoom and 40x HD zoom feature gives you even more framing options when you're far from your subject. And there's no need to worry about focusing when on the move, the intelligent autofocus feature allows you to track your subjects without constantly having to adjust focus.

The AX43 also maintains the same high-resolution recording as its predecessor, utilizing its Exmor R CMOS sensor for superior low-light performance at up to 4K30 XAVC S video at high bitrates up to 100 Mb/s. Adding to its special features, the camcorder also utilizes effects such as 4K time lapse and slow-motion recording with frame rates up to 120 fps, so you can capture dramatic events and add creativity to your productions. The AX43 isn't limited to quality video recording, because it also records 5.1 or stereo audio recording to immerse your viewers in the moment.

When you've finished shooting your video, the FDR-AX43 makes it easy to edit on the fly with its integrated Highlight Movie Maker app to create short movies to share over Wi-Fi with one touch of a button. Navigating your footage and settings is made easy using the large, 3" fold-out touchscreen LCD, and you can save and share your footage using your smartphone over Wi-Fi or using a high-quality SDHC/SDXC card.
