Teradek has done it again, taking the familiar, high-quality transmission of its previous systems and unlocking the 6 GHz frequency with its Bolt 6 Series wireless video transmission systems, monitor modules, antennas, and the new Serv Micro streaming device. A New Industry Standard
Outfitted with the newly available 6 GHz frequency band, the Bolt 6 series can transmit and receive video with less signal congestion in high-traffic RF applications. Industry-standard 5 GHz is also supported, making the Bolt 6 cross compatible with any Bolt 4K devices, as well as the Bolt Manager App for iOS and Android. All Bolt 6 devices can pair with Bolt 4K devices on 5 GHz frequencies for cross-integration into your preëxisting systems. To access the 6 GHz band, you must have a Bolt 6 transmitter and receiver bundle. Much like its 4K counterpart, the Bolt 6 offers zero-delay signal transmission.
Workflow Optimization: Picking the Right Bolt 6 for You
Within the Bolt 6 series are workflow-specific configurations that offer different features depending on your production’s needs.
The Bolt 6 XT features a redesigned profile for a smaller form factor. It runs 50% quieter than the Bolt 4K version while transmitting at the same 750 to 1500' range. It has a 5-pin USB port for connection with the SmallHD camera control monitors. The Bolt 6 LT mirrors much of its 4K counterpart’s functionality with this same 750 to 1500' transmission range. It also offers HDMI-only units for production-specific connectivity.
All models have an improved Long Range mode and SDI Eye Pattern Tool for checking cable integrity. MAX models include the 6G Flexible H Antenna for increased longevity in the field. Similar to its predecessors, the Bolt 6 series offers either HDMI or both HDMI and SDI connectivity, as well as Gold mount and V-mount battery plate options. Complete your system by purchasing a transmitter and receiver bundle or just the transmitter or receiver unit on its own.
Additional Accessories and Compatibility
When it comes to increasing the capabilities of your wireless transmission system, look no further than the Bolt 6 Monitor Modules. These modules connect to the SmallHD Smart 7 series monitors, just like the Bolt 4K versions, to transmit your video and control from the monitor up to 750 to 1500' away.
If you want to stream your footage to up to 10 devices on set, then the Serv Micro is for you. This streamlines the collaboration process between production and post.
