On Thursday, August 16, SlingStudio unveiled a new firmware update that has added several features to its live switching, recording, and streaming system. While the main functions of the SlingStudio remain the same, here is a breakdown of the new features that you can take advantage of as part of this update.
- Chroma Key: Using a green screen, you can now replace your background with a still image or video.
- Motion Graphics: Input motion graphic overlays using a video input and chroma-keying for custom lower-thirds, logos, and more directly from your NLE software of choice.
- Auto Switching: Rather than selecting video sources via the touchscreen, preset time intervals for switching or use voice commands. This lets you have angles switched, even if you’re the talent and don’t have anyone manning the console app.
- Lower Delay: The time delay between the camera input and built-in HDMI output has been reduced for more seamless video-conferencing during meetings and collaborations with clients such as Zoom or Skype.
