Teradek has been a trusted name in video transmission for years, and with the release of an upgraded Serv 4K transmitter and new Ace 750 transmission systems, the brand continues to prove why it is the best. Let’s break down the nitty gritty of these new releases so you can decide which product works best for your production workflow.
Serv 4K: 2024 Edition
Recently, Teradek released a new version of the Serv 4K transmitter. Like its predecessor, the 2024 version can stream color-accurate footage up to DCI 4K at 60p to up to 20 devices or straight to the cloud. This makes the unit ideal for productions in both live broadcast and film applications since several stakeholders can be privy to what happens on set. HDMI and 12G-SDI ports make the unit compatible with most cameras. Video can be outputted wirelessly via Gigabit Ethernet or dual-band Wi-Fi.
The 2024 edition varies from the previous version by outfitting you with an improved OLED display, quieter operation with better heat management, and new mounting options. Secure the Serv 4K directly to your camera or video village configuration with ease. Improved status and menu control make for more intuitive encoding and streaming.
Ace 750 Transmission System
In tandem with the upgraded Serv 4K, Teradek is unveiling the Ace 750 video transmission system. Available in transmitter, receiver, or complete transmitter/receiver set configurations, the Ace 750 delivers 4K30 video and audio signals up to 750' with zero delay. The HDMI system is lightweight and compact thanks to built-in antennas designed for mirrorless cameras, camcorders, action cameras, and A/V workflows. The transmitter and receiver units are auto-paired right out of the box for easy setup.
Thanks to the separately available transmitter and receiver units, you can create a video transmission system that best suits your live event production. One transmitter can communicate with up to six receivers simultaneously while using the Bolt Manager app with your iOS/Android device.
Don’t want to forgo your preexisting Teradek system but still want to purchase the new release? Don’t worry, the Ace 750 is backwards compatible with Bolt 4K and Bolt 6 devices in both 5 and 6 GHz modes. This includes SmallHD monitors with integrated Bolt receivers.
