DJI Releases New Goggles Integra, RC Motion 2, and Avata Combos

DJI has announced the Goggles Integra headset and RC Motion 2 controller. The Integra features many of the best aspects of the Goggles 2, but at a more affordable price point, while the new controller adds backward flight capabilities and a familiar joystick to its motion-sensing controls. Also announced is replacement padding for the Integra and two new Avata combos for new pilots, the Avata Explorer Combo and Avata Pro-View Combo, bound to make your flight experience much easier to get off the ground. With great features and affordable prices, these new FPV additions are sure to suit your needs.

DJI Goggles Integra

Compared to the existing Goggles 2, the Integra retains some key features that make FPV piloting so enjoyable: dual 1080p Full HD Micro-OLED displays and stable 1080p Full HD video transmission via DJI’s O3+ dual-band technology. To maximize stability, the transmission auto-switches and is joined by a low 38 ms latency and SyncSmooth technology to help combat eye fatigue and motion sickness. An integrated battery strap also makes it more convenient to use.

Because of the Integra's lower price point, some features have changed—for example, there is no built-in diopter adjustment or wireless streaming. However, DJI didn't completely abandon these features. With 11 pairs of lens inserts, which cover diopters from -8.0 D to +2.0 D, the Integra is friendly to varying types of eyesight. Additionally, screen sharing is still possible with the included USB-C OTG cable and the DJI Fly app installed on an iOS or Android mobile device.

DJI RC Motion 2

DJI introduced single-handed drone piloting with the DJI Motion Controller. It was a natural and intuitive method of flying that, when paired with FPV goggles, made you feel like you were gripping the flight stick inside a virtual cockpit. The new RC Motion 2 makes some subtle but significant changes to its predecessor. First, DJI switched out the thumb pad for a dedicated joystick for height and left-right horizontal flight control—a more familiar option for anyone who’s ever used a gamepad or traditional RC controller. A new feature for the RC Motion 2 is the addition of a reverse button to the accelerator trigger, allowing for backward flight. As of this writing, RC Motion 2 is exclusively compatible with the DJI Avata.

New Avata Combos

With their many essential accessories, DJI-designed combo packages have long been a great way for new pilots to start flying immediately. The Avata Explorer and Pro-View combos are no exception, with each one primarily focused on FPV flight.

Both include the DJI Avata, which offers ultra-wide 4K stabilized video indoors and outside, in a “cinewhoop” design and palm-sized form factor. In the Explorer Combo, the drone is combined with the Goggles Integra and RC Motion 2, letting you enjoy all of the new products in one bundle. The Pro-View Combo also includes the new RC Motion 2 controller but keeps the existing Goggles 2 for those who want a more unified solution and the additional features the higher-end model offers.
