Hoya ProND1000 overview

  • 1Description

The Hoya 82mm ProND1000 Filter is a solid neutral density filter that enables a 10-stop increase in exposure. This 3.0 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily.

This filter employs Hoya's metallic ACCU-ND coating on both sides of the substrate to create the neutral density effect and ensure maintained color neutrality between filter grades. It is constructed from high-quality clear optical glass for notable image clarity and is set within a durable one-piece aluminum filter ring.

3.0 ND filter darkens the image, allowing you to photograph with a longer shutter speed or wider aperture than normally required.
Providing a 10-stop reduction, this filter allows you to control depth of field and convey movement more easily.
Metallic ACCU-ND coating ensures color accuracy and consistency between different ProND filter grades.
One-piece aluminum ring adds durability and rigidity for assured use and helps to prevent filter jamming.
Constructed from clear optical glass for maintained image clarity.

    Hoya ProND1000 reviews

    82mm ProND1000 Filter is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Special effects This is a great filter for extreme long open shutter photos. Easy to keep clean, adds a full 10 stops. You will need to use bulb setting and a stop watch or similar device. On a street at night with pedestrians you can give the effect of an empty street. Or calm water, etc. the threads do not bind at all on my tamron 24-70, and the lens cap fits on the outside fine.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pleased.... I've been really pleased with the results I've had from the ProND1000. Being able to produce silky water in blaring sunlight has been fun. It's not fun to clean in the field though. Whatever the coating is on this filter makes it a bit tougher to clean. It's my first 3 stop filter so I'm not sure if this is a brand specific issue or a characteristic of all 3 stop filters. Definitely not a deal breaker for me though. I've enjoyed using it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great ND Filter Does not interfere with colors. That's really all that matters!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Valuable tool I picked this up at the B&H store on a trip to NY recently. I wanted to do some skyline photos while there and include water in the composition but I wanted it milky smooth. Despite over 20 years as a working photographer, I never owned an ND filter! But the images I was able to get on this trip with this filter were stunning. The 10 stop filter gives me the chance to get the long exposure effect I am after even in daylight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy with purchase This is my first 10 stop ND filter. I cannot compare it to other brands, but I am very happy with my purchase. I got the 82mm version to use with my new Tokina 11-20 2.8. Wish I would not have waited so long to get this filter. It has made for some creative photos, and has sparked new ideas for photographs. The quality of this ND filter seems excellent, fits perfectly on my Tokina 11-20. I would buy this again in a heartbeat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from EXTREMELY USEFUL This 10 stop ND filter is perfect for getting long exposures during the day perfect for video too so you don't have to be at f/22 or jack up your shutter speed to 1/1000 when you're outside. Hoya made a great quality filter that I will continue to use and I will continue to purchase their products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value This is a great filter for the price. While not 'cheap', it is not as expensive as some others but still, in my view, has all the necessary attributes of a top filter. The build quality and lack of colour cast are excellent.
