Fujifilm 10-24mm f/4.0 overview

  • 1Description

The Fujifilm XF 10-24mm f/4 R OIS Lens is a wide-angle zoom providing a 35mm-equivalent focal length range of 15-36mm when used with Fujifilm APS-C-sized mirrorless digital cameras. A constant f/4 maximum aperture maintains consistent illumination throughout the zoom range and the Optical Image Stabilization system helps to minimize the appearance of camera shake when working with longer shutter speeds. An internal focusing system, and the use of a stepping AF motor, ensures quiet, smooth, and precise focusing capabilities that are ideal for both still and video applications.

Four aspherical and three extra-low dispersion elements are integrated into the optical design to reduce chromatic aberrations throughout the zoom range and to benefit overall image clarity and sharpness. An HT-EBC multi-layer coating helps to minimize ghosting and lens flare for higher contrast and an additional coating has been applied to the rear side of the front-most lens element to further reduce ghosting that is common to lens designs with deep concave elements.

Wide-angle zoom lens provides a 35mm-equivalent focal length range of 15-36mm, making it highly suitable for landscape, interior, nature, and other applications where a dynamic sense of space is desired.
Optical image stabilization works to reduce the appearance of camera shake to suit working in low-light conditions with slower shutter speeds.
Constant f/4 maximum aperture provides consistent illumination throughout the zoom range.
High-speed precision stepping autofocus motor is ideal for quickly and accurately acquiring focus and ideal for moving subjects and video applications.
Four aspherical elements and three extra-low dispersion elements help to reduce chromatic aberrations throughout the zoom range and contribute to high overall image sharpness.
An HT-EBC multi-layer coating minimizes lens flare and ghosting to deliver contrast-rich, color neutral imagery. An additional coating has been applied to the reverse side of the front lens element to further contribute to effective ghosting and flare reduction.
An internal focusing mechanism maintains the overall lens length during focus for faster, more reliable performance.
Finely-tuned metal focus and aperture rings benefit overall handling and durability.
A macro setting enables close-up focusing down to 9.4".
The seven-blade rounded diaphragm works to produce an aesthetic out-of-focus quality to benefit selective focus and shallow depth of field imagery.
When used with an X-series camera that features a Lens Modulation Optimizer (LMO) function, the lens' performance is enhanced to deliver consistent illumination and sharpness throughout the aperture range.

    Fujifilm 10-24mm f/4.0 reviews

    XF 10-24mm f/4 R OIS Lens is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 146.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fujifilm Does It Again Here is another amazing lens from Fujifilm. It is super sharp wide open and through f8 it is eye-popping. It is super well built and even though statistically it seems large for the X bodies, it feels great and balances well on my X-E2. At the same apertures , it easily surpasses my 14mm f2.8 lens. I shoot with the Fujifilm as well as Nikon and have had way too many Nikon lenses and this beauty matches or tops the cream of the Nikon offerings. Dare I speak blasphemy and utter the words It is as good as the 14-24 f2.8. It has minimal distortions and as can be seen in the attached photos, straight lines stay very straight without post processing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best of new and old Seldom do you look back and despite the technological advances in photography long for the good ole days. This lens however will give you the best of both worlds. Using the state of the art technology, you get a wide angle zoom lens that is superlative in its performance. Edge to edge sharpness coupled with no distortions makes for a perfect wide angle lens. Add to that the old school physical feel of the construction (metal barrel, silky smooth manual focusing, a comfortable heft without been too heavy) and you have a one-of-a-kind lens. If you want an excellent lens with great handling and outstanding performance, look no further than the Fujifilm 10-24mm zoom.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic! As soon as this lens was in my hands I knew it was a keeper. Then I saw the superb images it produces. It has been glued to my camera since the day I received it. It's a gem. It is bigger than other Fuji lenses, but I think it's a fair compromise given it's versatility and quality. The OIS is really useful. And of all the Fuji X mount lenses I have tried, this one focuses the fastest, and certainly faster than the 14 or Zeiss 12. If you are debating between the 10-24 and the 14 or 12, I would urge one towards the purchase of this lens first.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As Advertised...... I've only used this lens twice and mostly for testing but I will say that so far it is everything I expected and more. Tack sharp from corner to corner at all the settings I tried - which is most possibilities.. I come from Canon land and just sold a 5D3 and a bunch of L lenses. I sold a 18-35L and I can say this lens is just as sharp. The neat part is that it is so much lighter and easy to carry and work with. I sold 5 L's and have nice new Fuji lenses and so far I'm very happy.. If someone would have told me I would leave Canon for Fuji a year ago I would have told them they were crazy. Net is - this is a nice lens..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comparable to my old Canon EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM on a 5D3 Hobbyist evaluation: 4 Stars, because I only did a casual comparison between the XF 10-24mm and Canon EF 16-35mm in Lightroom. The 10-24 was comparable to the 16-35mm, even pixel peeking from 1:1 to 4:1. I really could not tell a difference from the center to the corners, between the two lenses. Plus, the Fuji combo is noticeable lighter. I suspect I won't feel as burdened at the end of the day.I'd definitely recommend this lens. The majority of photos on, one of my favorite trips to Hamburg, Germany was shot with an ultra-wide. Great fun. I'm looking forward to photographing more museums and national parks this coming year, using the XF 10-24mm.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice and Sharp, just a little slow This lens is absolutely great. For real estate, I have nothing else that can touch it for the speed a focal range that it provides. I was originally using a Rokinon 14mm 2.8 which was great, but with the autofocus and zoom range, it gives me a ton of versatility. The OIS makes it great for video as well, though the camera has not caught up to the use of manual controls just yet (in the next update!).I would the only major flaw in this lens is the aperture. F4 is very hard to use in a dimly lit ceremony which makes it almost useless unless I am boosting the ISO to near unusable numbers. Don't get me wrong, given the chance, I would still buy this lens again. Just wish it still had that extra stop of light.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good multi-purpose wide angle lens There are plenty of reviews evaluating the technical details and sharpness of the lens, I am neither qualified nor knowledgeable to comment on that:) Strictly from a usage standpoint, this is a great lens to have for the following: --> Landscape/Cityscape photos --> Event photos --> Creative portraits A little bulky but definitely travel friendly and produces good quality images when used with X-T1. You will notice some aberrations and vignetting when used w/ filters at wider angles, but nothing that can't be corrected when editing the photos. At F/4 --> the bokeh is not spectacular but still offers good DOF --> Not great for low light photography (hand held) unless you use high ISO settings

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the Best Wide Angle Zooms This is one of the best wide angle zooms I have ever used. I own and use (often) the Nikon 14-24mm zoom, which I consider the standard of all wide angle zooms for a full frame camera. I own and use (increasingly seldom) the Canon 16-35 f/2.8 L zoom. This one is nearly as sharp as the Nikon and better than the Canon L series zoom. The OIS on the Fuji lens is a huge bonus for hand holding in low light situations. The images are incredibly sharp in good light and I have hand held this this lens down to 1/4 second wide open zoomed all the way out with great success. The OIS works really well. Those who do super wide angle photography will love this lens. It is very well built, the zoom ring is a little stiff, which I like, and the focus is swift and smooth. There is nothing to dislike about this lens.
