FUJIFILM XF 10-24mm f/4 R OIS Overview

  • 1Description

Covering a useful range of wide-angle focal lengths, the FUJIFILM XF 10-24mm f/4 R OIS is a 15-36mm-equivalent zoom featuring a constant f/4 maximum aperture, an advanced optical design, and optical image stabilization. Utilizing a series of extra-low dispersion and aspherical elements, both chromatic and spherical aberrations are well-controlled in order to realize a high degree of color accuracy, sharpness, and accurate rendering. A Super EBC coating also suppresses flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color neutrality when working in strong lighting conditions. Benefitting the optics, an optical image stabilization system minimizes the appearance of camera shake for improved sharpness when shooting handheld. Additionally, a stepping motor offers quick and quiet autofocus performance.

Wide-angle zoom is designed for FUJIFILM X-mount mirrorless cameras and provides a 15-36mm equivalent focal length range.
Constant f/4 maximum aperture offers consistent performance throughout the zoom range and also helps to realize a relatively compact and lightweight design.
Three extra-low dispersion elements are used to reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations in order to produce high clarity and color fidelity throughout the zoom range.
Four aspherical elements control distortion and spherical aberrations, which helps to improve sharpness and realize more accurate rendering.
Super EBC coating has been applied to individual elements to reduce lens flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color fidelity when working in strong lighting conditions.
Stepping motor, along with an internal focusing design, affords fast and quiet autofocus performance that benefits both stills and video applications.
Optical image stabilization minimizes the appearance of camera shake to better enable handheld shooting with slower shutter speeds.
Rounded seven-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing out-of-focus quality to benefit the use of selective focus and shallow depth of field techniques.

    FUJIFILM XF 10-24mm f/4 R OIS Reviews

    XF 10-24mm f/4 R OIS Lens is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 155.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fujifilm Does It Again Here is another amazing lens from Fujifilm. It is super sharp wide open and through f8 it is eye-popping. It is super well built and even though statistically it seems large for the X bodies, it feels great and balances well on my X-E2. At the same apertures , it easily surpasses my 14mm f2.8 lens. I shoot with the Fujifilm as well as Nikon and have had way too many Nikon lenses and this beauty matches or tops the cream of the Nikon offerings. Dare I speak blasphemy and utter the words It is as good as the 14-24 f2.8. It has minimal distortions and as can be seen in the attached photos, straight lines stay very straight without post processing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best of new and old Seldom do you look back and despite the technological advances in photography long for the good ole days. This lens however will give you the best of both worlds. Using the state of the art technology, you get a wide angle zoom lens that is superlative in its performance. Edge to edge sharpness coupled with no distortions makes for a perfect wide angle lens. Add to that the old school physical feel of the construction (metal barrel, silky smooth manual focusing, a comfortable heft without been too heavy) and you have a one-of-a-kind lens. If you want an excellent lens with great handling and outstanding performance, look no further than the Fujifilm 10-24mm zoom.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic! As soon as this lens was in my hands I knew it was a keeper. Then I saw the superb images it produces. It has been glued to my camera since the day I received it. It's a gem. It is bigger than other Fuji lenses, but I think it's a fair compromise given it's versatility and quality. The OIS is really useful. And of all the Fuji X mount lenses I have tried, this one focuses the fastest, and certainly faster than the 14 or Zeiss 12. If you are debating between the 10-24 and the 14 or 12, I would urge one towards the purchase of this lens first.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great SWA Zoom for Fuji XF This is an excellent super wide angle zoom lens for Fuji XF, with sharp corners even wide open. The constant F4 aperture throughout the range allows for better light control. There is some barrel distortion at the widest end of the zoom range, correctable in post-processing software, but there is very little chromatic aberration or coma that I have detected. Overall I love this lens and am glad I purchased it. You can create a sense of epic vastness if you are careful to watch your corners and angles... Since it takes standard filters, it is easy to use a circ pol without resorting to kludgy solutions. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As Advertised...... I've only used this lens twice and mostly for testing but I will say that so far it is everything I expected and more. Tack sharp from corner to corner at all the settings I tried - which is most possibilities.. I come from Canon land and just sold a 5D3 and a bunch of L lenses. I sold a 18-35L and I can say this lens is just as sharp. The neat part is that it is so much lighter and easy to carry and work with. I sold 5 L's and have nice new Fuji lenses and so far I'm very happy.. If someone would have told me I would leave Canon for Fuji a year ago I would have told them they were crazy. Net is - this is a nice lens..

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comparable to my old Canon EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM on a 5D3 Hobbyist evaluation:? 4 Stars, because I only did a casual comparison between the XF 10-24mm and Canon EF 16-35mm in Lightroom.? The 10-24 was comparable to the 16-35mm, even pixel peeking from 1:1 to 4:1.? I really could not tell a difference from the center to the corners, between the two lenses.? Plus, the Fuji combo is noticeable lighter.? I suspect I won't feel as burdened at the end of the day.???I'd definitely recommend this lens. The majority of photos on, one of my favorite trips to Hamburg, Germany was shot with an ultra-wide.? Great fun.? I'm looking forward to photographing more museums and national parks this coming year, using the XF 10-24mm.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good multi-purpose wide angle lens There are plenty of reviews evaluating the technical details and sharpness of the lens, I am neither qualified nor knowledgeable to comment on that:) Strictly from a usage standpoint, this is a great lens to have for the following: --> Landscape/Cityscape photos --> Event photos --> Creative portraits A little bulky but definitely travel friendly and produces good quality images when used with X-T1. You will notice some aberrations and vignetting when used w/ filters at wider angles, but nothing that can't be corrected when editing the photos. At F/4 --> the bokeh is not spectacular but still offers good DOF --> Not great for low light photography (hand held) unless you use high ISO settings

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Lens I recently bought this lens and have been really happy with it so far. My previous wide angle lens was the Canon 16-35mm f/4L. So far this lens is proving to be much better. I've done a combination of regular and long exposure in the week or so that I've had it and the two best things are that there is no discernible chromatic aberration and the distortion from the wide angle is much less pronounced. It's been very sharp so far too and I like having the extra mm on each side compared to the Canon. I'm not sure if it's the camera or the lens, but the amount of noise and hot pixels on the long exposures is much less too. I haven't done extreme long exposures, but up to 60 seconds, there's no noise or hot pixels.

    question

I need a wide angle lens. Which would you recommend between the Fujinon 16mm and 10-24mm? Also, can you charge the order to two different credit cards? Thank you!
    Asked by: Daniel N.
10-24 it is ??. The sentiment here is loud and clear. I presently have the 18-55, 55-200, the pancake 27mm. Very happy with the zoom lenses. The 10-24mm Wide will definitely complement to what I now have. I was all set to get the 10-24mm, until after watching the Angry Photographer on YouTube. The 16mm was like, an all-world lens to him and that got me thinking. But he also thought highly of the 10-24. Thank you so much, everyone ??

Which way does this lens focus. Is it like a canon in which you rotate to the right and it focuses closer or is it like a nikon lens and focuses the opposite way...?
    Asked by: Patrick
You rotate the lens' focusing ring to the left to reduce the focus distance, and rotate the focusing ring to the right to increase the focus distance out to infinity. However, you may go into the menu and go to BUTTON/DIAL SETTING > FOCUS RING to reverse the direction of rotation of the focus ring.

    question

Hi, for B+H and anyone who already owns this lens, do you miss have the distance markings for hyperfocal distancing when using for landscape shots? cheers, tom
    Asked by: Anonymous
The distance scale in my Xpro1 is not accurate. I use f8 or f11 for landscape most of the time and use online DOF calculator, estimate the focus distance.
