Rycote Super Softie Overview

The Rycote Super Softie Windshield for Shotgun Mic (5.9" Long, 0.7 to 0.9" Diameter) features an aerodynamic shape and surface structure made from the company's 3D-Tex material, which allows for attenuation of wind noise with acoustic transparency. It is suitable for a variety of sound recording applications including video, ENG, and more.

The 5.9" Super Softie has no rigid internal structure, thus it causes virtually no polar pattern distortion. Its robust design has been engineered for use in challenging environments, and if it becomes rain-soaked, it can be squeezed out and shaken dry quickly. If it becomes coated with dust, it can be rinsed quickly without affecting its performance.

This is a great quick slide on solution when you're in a hurry. It's not a blimp so don;t expect it to stop strong winds but works great for moderate to light winds.

No. The Rycote 033202 Super Softie Windshield for Shotgun Mic (5.9" Long, 0.7 to 0.9" Diameter) is too long for use with the Deity S-Mic 2S Short Shotgun Microphone. The S-Mic 2S is 5.83" (148mm) long and the inside depth of the windshield is 5.9" (150mm) long, so which is longer than the length of the microphone. The Rycote 033201 Super Softie Windshield for Shotgun Mic (4.7" Long, 0.7 to 0.9" Diameter) [B&H # RYSS12M] would be a better option. The inside depth of this windshield is 4.7" (120mm).

Which Rycote solution would work with the Sennheiser MKH 8050, both with and without the MZF 8000 II filter module?

The Rycote 5cm Super-Softie Windshield with 3D-Tex (19/22) will work with the Sennheiser MKH 8050 and the Sennheiser MZF 8000 II filter module. You will have quite a bit of space inside, if you use the MKH 8050 without the filter module, because the full length of the microphone without the filter module is only 2.9".

Yes, the Rycote 033203 18cm Super Softie Wind Shield for Shotgun Mics will fit on the Sennheiser MKE 600 Shotgun Microphone, but it is 7" deep and the mic is 10" long, so it may cover too much of the microphone. A better match is the Rycote 033202 Super Softie Windshield for Shotgun Mics (B&H # RYSS15M). which is 5" deep and also lists compatibility with the MKE 600 in the product description.

The DPA Microphones 2017 Supercardioid Shotgun Microphone (BH # DP2017) dimensions will work with the The Rycote Super Softie Windshield for Shotgun Mic (BH #RYSS12M).
