Good and light. Not super stable verticles at higher heights with a1200. But I like it. Round legs. Uhgg.. and the locking knuckle at bottom of stand has to stay at bottom when folded up. I like it in the middle like all my other stands. Over all nice and lite. Good combobfor indoors.

I thank god that I never bought more than 2 C - stands. They are like 25 lbs heavy, hard to transport, assemble, and disassemble. Takes so much room in my car. On the other hand this Combo stand by Matthews is a one step deployment, carry a bit more weight than my c - stands and it is only a foot shorter than my 11 ft C - Stand!

As long as you are securing it with sandbags, yes, the Matthews Combo Black Aluminum Stand (10.3') would be able to lift an 8x8 frame. You will need a Matthews Hollywood Grip Head (4-1/2") in order to place it on the stand. I recommend the Matthews Medium Overhead Roller Stand (14', Chrome) as the ideal stand for a butterfly frame.

Unfortunately the top combo head on the Matthews Combo Black Aluminum Stand is non-removable, but there is a retractable baby pin on the side.

It depends! So if you don't compress the risers as much as humanly possible, the stand collapsed will be closer to 49", yes, but there's a bit of pressure in the stand so the risers don't go down fully... so if you compress the risers, you can get the collapsed length to 48.25-48.5".
