The Miix 2 59414153 Multi-Mode 11.6" Multi-Touch Notebook Computer from Lenovo features a 3-in-1 multi-mode design. Laptop mode focuses on the traditional clamshell laptop experience for maximum productivity while Stand mode relies more on the touch applications of the display. If you want to experience Tablet mode in its full form, you can simply detach the Miix 2 from the keyboard dock.
The 11.6" touchscreen supports up to 10-point touch, which allows you to utilize the multi-touch gestures found in Windows 8.1. The display has a 16:9 aspect ratio and a Full HD 1920 x 1080 native resolution, which can play back 1080p Full HD content without upscaling or letterboxing. You can also output video to an external display via the micro HDMI port.
The system is powered by a dual-core 4th generation Haswell 1.5 GHz Intel Core i3-4012Y processor. It also has 4GB of DDR3L RAM, a 128GB solid state drive, a MicroSD media card slot, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, an integrated 2-megapixel webcam, a 5-megapixel rear camera, and a microphone. There are also built-in JBL stereo speakers with a subwoofer.
Windows 8.1 is the installed operating system. Windows 8.1 improves the user experience of Windows 8 with several additions and changes. The Start button returns, but has two limited core functions. A left click takes you to the redesigned Start screen featuring tiles that update in real-time. A right click brings up an advanced menu where you can access the Device Manager, Control Panel and more. You will also be able to boot directly to the traditional desktop screen instead of the Windows 8.1 Start screen. Windows 8.1 provides a unique user experience that differs from previous versions of Windows.
