Non-functional

I am using this to send video from an A/V receiver to a projector that was purchased from B&H. The video cuts out constantly, adjusting resolution and causing the projector to reset. There was _some_ improvement by moving the HDMI receiver to within 8 feet of the transmitter and locating them in the same plane. We also disabled Bluetooth on our phones and had some better luck (?). We made it through a 40-minute TV show with only 3 hard signal drops between several pixelated losses of resolution.

This thing is not only bullet proof and driver free, it has an excellent image quality. A great solution for the "TV on the wall, but the table is in the middle of the room" conference room problem. No wires!

Great Job, works perfectly.

Great range, works way better than expected. I do need a USB-C to HDMI adapter to make it work, but that was expected.

BEWARE... stay as far away from this product as you possibly can! There are a number of great reviews here, sadly they are fairly recent. I, too, would have posted a very positive review if I had only been using the product a few months. Bought this kit about 2 years ago now...and it has started to cause me grief after about 14-15 months. Now, the device is simply inoperable. The receiver/transmitter units will often fail to sync, and when/if they finally do, it lasts for a few minutes before the signal gets lost again. Google is your friend - do yourself a favor and thoroughly read the negative reviews before you buy this junk. I found a number of folks with exactly the same problem as mine, and it basically boils down to a significant design flaw which causes the transmitter unit to overheat, and with time that just eventually kills it for good. I have contacted IOGEAR about this and they are refusing to repair or replace the product since it is now out of warranty. I have even reached out to their corporate head office's legal department to challenge this - based on the facts that 1) other people are experiencing the same problem -and- 2) I feel a 15-month lifetime is not reasonable, regardless of what the official warranty text is saying (this can also be challenged legally, as there are many places where such a limited warranty has no legal standing). But in the end, no luck, I'm stuck with a dead product and the company refuses to help. To quote one of their assistant general counsel: Given the price paid, the contract, and the conditions of use for this product, we feel that one year is a reasonable lifetime. Well that's great! So by definition, everything I buy from now on, I should expect to fail right after the initial warranty period ends? And I should just be OK with that and keep on buying new stuff all the time when it breaks for no reason? Not. Note to self (and spreading the word): never buying anything from IOGEAR ever again!

Lots of noise, glitches

It technically can work for long durations (a whole 40 minute show). Wouldn't trust it for a feature film length There's noise and distortion mottled throughout the picture and if anyone in the room moves, it loses signal and takes 45 seconds to set up again.

question

Does this device transmit & receive on the same radio frequencies as Wireless Access Points (2.4GHz and/or 5.0GHz? Thus causing channel contention/interference?
Asked by: Kevin S.
Not that we have seen on our network - we have dual-band APs throughout our building and have seen 0 interference so far from these devices - our software development team loves them, and we plan to buy more for our other conference rooms/meeting spaces.
