There is a Review online about this the user stated the Zoom is 60x however I see the zoom is 30x is there a feature to double the Zoom power to 60x? Please advise Id like to try using this for taping live performances at a far distance.
The Sony HDR CX405 will have a 30x optical zoom and 350x digital zoom. This camcorder will not have the capacity of 60x optical zoom.

Is the Sony RM-VPR1 Remote Control compatible with the Sony HDR-CX405 HD Handycam?
The HDR-CX405 does have a Multi-Terminal Input. You should be able to use it with the RM-VPR1 Remote Control, which is B&H #SORMVPR1.
