Kopul CMX-1 overview

  • 1Description

Designed for filmmaking using a DSLR, camcorder, or mirrorless camera with a 1/8" (3.5mm) mic input, the Kopul CMX-1 Two-Channel Mini Mixer with Shoe Bracket leverages a compact and robust design to provide extra inputs and level controls for two separate mono inputs or a stereo mic input.

A mono/stereo switch can be engaged to send audio signals to two separate channels (in stereo mode) or combine the two channels into one signal when set to mono. The dual stepped trim control knobs provide precise adjustment of the output levels to the camera, while the fully passive design prevents unnecessary noise from influencing the signal.

The rugged metal bracket features three integrated shoe mounts on the sides and top of the unit for attaching accessories such as lights, microphones, wireless microphone receivers, and more. Suitable for amateurs and pros alike, the mixer allows you to input audio that's in sync with your video.

    Kopul CMX-1 reviews

CMX-1 Two-Channel Mini Mixer with Shoe Bracket is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works as Advertised... I use this mixer to combine the audio of two mics when recording video with my DSLR. It seems well constructed with a sturdy mounting foot and 3 (sides & top) shoe brackets. 3/8 jack ports seem tight and secure. It's a passive device without a pre-amp and no phantom power is provided. It out puts in either stereo or mono. I don't notice any signal degradation when using it. The mixer accepts only 1/8 mic inputs (no XLR.) I use it with self powered mics and the volume knobs can only reduce signal to the recorder. Interestingly - 2 things: 1. the Left/Right mic inputs DO NOT mirror image the volume controls and 2. the product review format is one that appears to be for shoes that one might wear!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from CMX-1 review A simple, no nonsense tool, that does what you would expect. My only dissappointment (and I see it in the item listing photos now), is that it does not have an end stop with the three shoe mounts grooves. I guess this allows flexible entry from either end, but it's easy for your device to slide off if the clamp isn't 100%. I would have preferred slide entry from one end only, but this may not bother others. Apart from that minor niggle, it's a great device.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Allows my two mike systems to go into my camera We needed a way to get two microphones to go into our little camera. The great folks at B&H suggested this and it does the trick! I believe that that the only issue I have been told is that is has a stero/mono issue, but not a deal breaker. If you need two mikes into one system, this will do the trick.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from SImple solution! Does just what it's supposed to do... mixes two sources into one input. It's a great, simple solution for cases where I want to record ambient sound with a shotgun mike, in addition to a lapel mike... and I can turn the lapel down when I don't want to record the person.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellant I use this mixer for small two person remote interviews and it does just what I need. Before purchasing, I was concerned with noise induction for such a small priced mixer. It is clean as a whistle.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great little peice of Kit Does what it's supposed to do. Wish I 2 more inputs for the price point, but the unit is quite solid and works flawlessly. I use it to pull two Rode Links into my GH4 and the sound is great.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broke on First Use The first time I tried to use this it broke. One of the plugs will not retain the jack. And a little plastic piece broke off inside and came out. I think it was a locking tab for the jack.
