Use the top surface of your FS7 camcorder to mount accessories with this Top Plate from SHAPE. With multiple 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 tapped holes, this top plate will accept many standard accessories from magic arms to cold shoe adapters. The U-shape of the plate allows for the original camera handle to remain mounted while the non-flush design prevents over-tightened screws from puncturing the top of the camera casing.
The screws provided were not long enough for the threads to catch securely. 3 of the 4 long screws would slip and thus render the top handle unable to bear the weight of the camera. I've tried multiple configurations, as well as tested with other third party screws, and have identified that the screws provided by Shape were indeed the issue.
The fit is brilliant and allows for the handle to remain intact and useful. Lots of additional 1/4x20 mounting points for all your gadgets. All hardware included, you just need the allen wrench that fits the original bolts 3/16seamed to fit fine. (the heads are a different size than the new ones) Can't go wrong with this one.
