A backpack for the long haul with a convenient side access camera compartment for when opportunity knocks are two reasons to consider the black Fastpack BP 250 AW II   from Lowepro. The BP 250 AW II features three, padded, zippered compartments for storing and protecting your gear. The top one is for personal items such as headphones, clothing, and snacks. A rear compartment is for holding an up to 15" laptop and tablet. While the side compartment is for storing your DSLR camera with attached zoom lens and 2-3 extra lenses or flash units.

Configure the side compartment for your photo gear with the three, included, padded dividers. Small items such as flashlights, sunglasses, cables, pens, cellphones and a wallet may be stored in the five slip-in pockets located inside the top compartment. Next to these pockets is a lanyard with a swiveling clip for your keys. A tall, stretch-mesh pocket on the right side of the bag can hold a water bottle or a tripod/monopod. An adjustable strap above this pocket is used for securing the top of the tripod/monopod.

The Fastpack features a shoulder harness with a chest strap and a removable waist belt. The chest strap and waist belt each provide greater comfort and stability with heavier loads, and longer treks. When traveling with rolling luggage, use the quick-release straps on the back panel to secure your Fastpack to a trolley handle. And should inclement weather approach, simply deploy the built-in, all weather cover to safeguard your gear.

Fastpack BP 250 AW II (Black) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 169.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most complete bag I've ever had I have only been using this bag for a little over a week and could not be more pleased. It holds literally everything I could need in a very manageable, comfortable package. being able to carry my 70 - 200 with ought needing another bag is so nice. I have found also multiple ways of carrying tripods/monopods with this bag, form the side slot to suspending it from the back bottom flap, which is super convenient . It also has ample room for anything else you need to put in it. In the upper compartment i fit professional headphones in their case, two portable hard drives and a laptop charger. Great bag. Love it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfortable for hauling lots of gear I purchased it for an overseas trip where I'll be doing a lot of walking. My first impression is that it seems a lot bigger in person than when I looked at pictures and read dimensions on line, so it took some getting used to. I am pleasantly surprised at how comfortable it is to wear even when loaded with lots of heavy equipment. The jury is still out on my ability to get my camera out of/into the bag while it is on my back. I'm not as flexible as I used to be, not the fault of the bag. My other concern is protecting my gear while in the overhead bins of an aircraft. The bag seems to be pretty solid and I expect will do just fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice travel backpack I bought this to carry my gear onboard flights. It provides great protection and ample room for my needs. I really like the computer compartment in the rear with it's own opening. Fast and easy access. I carry 1 x D5, 1 x D810, Nikon 24-70mm (attached to the D810), Sigma 35mm Art, Sigma 50mm Art, and Rokinon 12mm 2.8 in the gear section. In the upper section I have chargers for all electronics listed above. Additional cards, readers, filters, spare batteries, and other articles. It's a bit heavy with all the mentioned gear but manageable. Zippers feel durable as does the material. Padding is adequate without adding to much bulk. Good bang for the buck.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the Job Perfectly I am planning on a train trek across the country and then a cruise to Alaska, so thought the pack might be useful to carry my camera and gear plus a small laptop...Mac... I took a small trip recently and decided to make a trial run of the pack. It was easy to pack all my gear plus I had plenty of room for other things not related to photography. After all the straps were adjusted and used, I found that the weight was evenly distributed and wasn't a strain to my back or too heavy. I am female, medium stature and weight and over 65 years young. I highly recommend the pack.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value I have found this pack to meet all my needs. I have a Sony 7rII, with a Sony/Zeiss 55mm, Batis, 25mm, Sony 70-200, Sony 90 mm macro and a flash. All of this fits nicely in the lower compartment. There is plenty of room in the top space for extras, and snacks. And my Mac Book Pro goes easily into the rear compartment. The waist strap is great for long hikes and the external tripod holder is a delight for any size tripod or for carrying a water bottle. Compared to other bags I considered, the price was right and I love this backpack. My only disappointment is: the tablet compartment is not large enough for a small intuous pro.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Pack!!! I do a lot of hiking, and although I have not had this on a long hike, so far it has been very comfortable, and easy to adjust. The construction of the pack is very good, comparable to my regular hiking back packs, and should last a long time. The side access is nice, the default setup has the camera right there. For sizing, I have the main compartment fairly full with a Canon 6D with attached 24-104 lens, 100mm macro, 85mm, 50mm, 430EX II flash and diffuser, radio triggers, and a charger. I really like this pack and pretty much keep that set of gear in it, changing things in and out as needed. This past weekend I used the pack for an outdoor shoot where I needed a tripod, and tried the manfrotto 055X, and although you can do it, you won't want to, just to big, something smaller would be just fine. All in all very pleased with the Fastpack BP 250 AW II.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Versatile Solution This LowePro backpack provides the versatility that I need when traveling on airplanes and hiking. It fits in the overhead while safely carrying my 5D III, speedlite and two lens including clothing and other travel items. I like the way that I can access the 5D with the attached EF 28-300L from the side opening while hiking without any problems. The camera and lens can then be put back in the padded area after the shots are made and continue to hike. The monopod and a water bottle can share the same side pocket which turned out to be a plus. I would finitely recommend this to a friend who needs this type of system. I have not used the rain cover but it is nice to know that it is available should I encounter rain.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Well designed camera bag I just got back from a trip involving air travel and a cruise ship. The Fastpack BP 250 AW II worked great! It fits well as a carry on holding my Nikon D750 and 3 lenses as well as a variety of other stuff like cell phone, charger, a book, spare batteries etc. I have 24-120 F4 a 50mm F1.8 and a 16-35 F4 lenses so none are very long but I think a 70-200 would still fit well. I've only had it a couple of weeks but it seems to be very sturdy. The only issue I had was my wife picked it up off the bed with the front zipper open and my camera fell out.
