    Teradek 10-0219 reviews

VidiU Pro is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful product! I enjoy connecting my gopro 4 to it when I'm doing livestreams through youtube live, the quality is great with little latency, and it's such a portable setup when out shooting on the field. The functionality is awesome, Teradek provides great customer support and tons of tutorials on their youtube channel ? I wish this device could do is link with wire cast so that I can switch between cameras and my computer screen when livestreaming tutorials and edit sessions. highly recommend to anyone looking for a simple livestreaming solution at home and on the field.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Say good bye to asking venues for internet! I've just finished producing an event using Live:Air and connected the program output of the iPad (lighting to HDMi adapter) into a Vidiu Pro. Then, Vidiu pro was using Teradek's Sharelink feature with three verizon phones via WIFI to Vidiu. This gave us 5mbps of total bandwidth!! The event was flawless for 2 hours!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy with this product. This item is a must have for any professional live webcaster. What I really love about this unit is that you can use the bonding feature (wifi/usb modem/ethernet) with all internet connections together at the same time without having to pay for the Sputnik service. I highly recommend getting the Teradek Battery adapter plate if you're planning on mobile streaming outdoors with only the internal battery. It works great with my dedicated WOWZA server by connecting through the manual setup settings. It also works great with the mainstream CDN settings such as Livestream, Ustream, YouTube, etc. It can freeze on you though, if you don't navigate the OS correctly. I purchased this thing to live webcast a union march with a Steadicam and after that I'm so glad I paid the extra $300 from the mid-level version, because the bonding feature made the difference.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product for Home and Business This product is great. I use it to stream to Youtube Live and it works like a charm! Easy to setup, except if you are using it on a corporate wireless connection. If you are having trouble connecting at a corporate level you may want to tell the local IT representatives that they may need to open ports 1935, 80, 400. Great product, would recommend!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from So far I am not pleased. Close to returning this. This was purchased with the intent of streaming several events and meetings per week without having to take a computer along with me. It has not worked yet. Understand, The $ difference between this and the Vidiu is that this unit allows you to share multiple LTE/Cellular connections bound together to stream at higher bitrates. Super cool... if it worked. It has not so far. I was also disappointed to find out that ShareLink was a subscription based service. This will cost you a minimum of $ more per month... and the software on the iOS devices is buggy. Spent about 15 hours on it so far and my understanding is that they are working on a fix but so far I am out $ and have nothing to show for it at all. It would work the same as a Vidiu but that is NOT why I purchased and I need the increased bandwidth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from highly recommended Very happy with this purchase I use it to broadcast a HD signal out of my camera via the HDMI port to my Ustream channel and with a solid internet connection this thing works like a charm. I had no problems broadcasting for 4 hours straight. highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Teradek VidiU Pro Needed a way to live stream events without have to bring my laptop along. Watched a YouTube demo and decided to give it a try and I'm glad I did. Set up was easy. Only issue I had was with the Vidiu app. Not sure if it works better with iPhone but on my Samsung S7 it was almost unusable.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good idea, very buggy, hardware issues I purchased 2 of these, one for on-demand event streaming to Facebook and the other for 24/7 streaming to YouTube. It's a good idea in theory, but the software is very buggy, and reliability is horrible. I've used them both on a wired network setup and on a wi-fi hotspot in the field. The good - Mostly easy to set up and connect to your Facebook/YouTube account. Once configured, one button start/stop for streaming. Internal battery is a nice touch for field broadcasts. The bad - Really buggy software both on the web interface and iPad app. Settings don't save or randomly revert. Never was able to get unit to use an iPad as a cellular hotspot. Support did show me a different way where it back feeds the iPad cellular signal over the VidiU Pro wi-fi which mostly worked, but was a pain to set up the initial connection. Lots of rebooting of both the iPad and VidiU to get them to see each other. Bluetooth configuration idea good in theory, but poorly executed. One of the units also had a hardware issue which Teradek said was a internal power issue. They did quickly RMA the unit, but this means that units with the issue were still being sold (like here on B&H). Most of that I could live with, but the big issue was tat after a few days of 24/7 streaming to YouTube, the unit would stop streaming and required a power reset. According to Teradek: "The Vidiu Pro is not meant to be 24/7 device" and recommended a much pricier option. Ended up switching over to the AJA HELO which is only a few bucks more. Takes a bit more to configure and get up and running, but rock solid reliability.
