Had to purchase this after I realized my USB-C port was the older 3.0 programming. This adapter works like a charm.

Did not work at all

I was unable to get any video transmission through this device, going from a new iPad Pro to my projector via an HDMI cable. I was successful with a USB-C to VGA adapter using the same iPad, so the prob is not with the iPad's USB port, and the HDMI port and cable work to connect the projector to a laptop, so I have to conclude the problem is with this adapter. Surprising because IOGear is a reputable brand; could be I just got a bad unit.
