  • 1Description

The UniFi Cloud Key from Ubiquiti Networks combines local network security with convenient remote access. It runs a local instance of the UniFi Controller software, and features single sign-on for remote, secure access to all of your UniFi devices from anywhere in the world. The UniFi Cloud Key is fully capable of configuring and managing dozens of UniFi devices, and serves as an ultra-low energy solution, replacing a dedicated server or computer. With plug-and-play installation, simply connect the Cloud Key to a UniFi Switch and remotely access it through any computer connected to the internet.

Multi-Site Management
A UniFi Cloud Key provides an always-on, private UniFi cloud service. Every site is accessible through its assigned secure SSO (single sign-on). Each UniFi Cloud Key is independent with its own network monitoring, configuration, maps, statistics, and administration accounts.
Network Overview
A comprehensive overview of your network health is readily available in the dashboard. Monitor your network's vitals and make on-the-fly adjustments as needed.
Detailed Analytics
Use the configurable reporting and analytics to monitor large user groups and expedite troubleshooting.
The UniFi Controller can manage flexible configurations of large deployments. Create multiple LAN and WLAN groups and assign them to the respective UniFi devices.
Wi-Fi Management
Use the UniFi Controller to manage UniFi APs, configure wireless networks, map out networks, and quickly manage system traffic. Wi-Fi management features include:

  • RF monitoring and device mapping
  • Detailed RF performance analysis
  • Band steering support
  • Guest portal/hotspot support
Router and Switch Management
Use the UniFi Controller to manage UniFi Security Gateways and Switches. Configure a variety of features:

  • WAN/LAN/VLAN configuration
  • Operation mode (switching, mirroring, or aggregate) per port
  • PoE setting per port (device-dependent)
  • Jumbo frame and flow control services
  • Monitor and analyze performance of each port

    Ubiquiti Networks UC-CK reviews

UniFi Cloud Key is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 55.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must for any UniFi Wireless installs! Use the UniFi Cloud Key in place of a dedictated UniFi Controller server. I was scrambling to find a small, inexpensive, maintenance free device to deploy with my UniFi installs. My latest attempt was to use a RasberryPi. Then Ubiquiti released the Cloud Key. Fantastic product. It's localally located on the network of the wireless devices, but you can access it via the Cloud by using your Ubiquiti login (free). New controller software is always available. Best of all worlds here. Note: This device does require either a PoE switch to receive power or can also get power from a micro USB connection (not included) from a computer or such.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Can't get it working. Power loss breaks it completely. It seems silly to design a network monitor that breaks completely if it loses power, but that's exactly what the Cloud Key does. I've had mine for a week now, and have been struggling to get it working. Not sure if I have a bad unit, or something else is going on. In any case, unless you already have POE with a UPS, plan on investing in some kind of USB-ups to power your UniFi Cloud Key, since a loss of power can require that you restore the unit from a backup to get it functioning again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly recommended I've been using Ubiquiti products for a few years now and I can honestly say that I wish I had bought the Cloud Key sooner. Before the Cloud Key, I ran the Unifi controller on my Plex server which was already on 24/7. At the time it made tons of sense and it wasn't a bad solution...but it wasn't all that elegant either. Upgrading the controller was always a pain. You'd have to back up your configuration, shut down the controller, manually download the new controller, install it and hope you didn't need to use your configuration backup. It wasn't the worst thing in the world, but on a headless server being maintained remotely it sure did get annoying. (not to mention the fact that the software controller prevents automated restarts, which was another nuisance in itself) Now I have the Cloud Key--the Unifi Controller that seamlessly ties the Unifi family together. I can't express enough how much cleaner this solution is. I originally bought it because I was tired of the software controller preventing restarts of my server after terminating my remote connection forcing me to physically access the server. With the Cloud Key though...everything just works. It's snappy, small and easy to maintain. It supports automated software and firmware upgrades. One click and you're done! No more messing about shutting down the controller, downloading the new software manually, etc.. This is how it should be. You go to the maintenance tab, see that there's an update and hit the button marked 'Update'. It does everything else on it's own. Remote management just got that much easier. I highly recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome tool for your Unifi network Used to have the app installed on my computer, however my computer isnt running 24x7, so it would miss 'some' of the reports. With the cloud key running 24x7 I can see all traffic stats from all devices and keep a close eye on my networks. Installation was a snap, run a backup on your existing installation, and restore it on the cloudkey. 5 minutes of work. I do believe you need a POE switch to power it, if you dont have one you might be able to power it through a USB powersupply, but please check that out yourself. Great piece of equipment!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just get it already You can run the software controller on a PC/Mac, but if you need to tweak/ adjust your (Unifi) network settings even remotely often, get one of these to make your life a lot easier. And sure, you can even set up the software controller so that you can get to it remotely, but the Cloud Key is so much easier and stable. I'm using Unifi for my home network, and I consider the Cloud Key to be a necessary piece of my setup. If you're using the Unifi series equipment on a commercial or enterprise setup it should pretty much be an essential piece.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Necessary for the Ubiqiti wifi network setup, is cool tho! I know you can sort of get by without it if you don't mind a hassle, but it makes Ubiquiti wifi network setup much easier if you do have it. Once it's running, the app exposes such useful data and tools though, so it's very beneficial if you have it. The only small thing I'd wish they'd change is the cable that connects it from the device to your POE switch. The cable is so short and very stiff, you can't really bend it and place the cloud key as you prefer. If your switch is right behind a cabinet door for example, you have to push it back or the key will keep the door from closing in front. Other than that it's great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Ubiquiti Controller I've installed three of these at client locations and I love them. There are two main benefits:First, it's an always-on UniFi controller for your Ubiquiti devices, which is far better than having to maintain a full-time server or running the controller part-time on your laptop, which is what I had been doing. Second, it provides cloud access through unifi.ubnt.com Just add your credentials to the Cloud Key and it'll magically appear on their website. You will have to open up a few ports to make that happen, but one it's connected, you can see all your installations at once.I can't speak to the long-term durability yet, but it seems well made. It powers off of POE or via micro-USB using a standard 5v adapter. If you've got any Ubiquiti gear, it's a no-brainer at this price.Speaking of price, MSRP is $$, so I'm not sure why B&H is going with $$at the moment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth Every Penny If you manage multiple Ubiquiti networks this is a must have. I am moving all of my clients to Ubiquiti UniFi systems including UAP, VOIP, etc. This little device is simple to configure and makes remote management super easy. I can see all of my UniFi Cloud Keys under a single management console. One click from anywhere and I am logged in remotely with full control of the UniFi devices.
