XQD/SD Card Reader is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 140.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is what I need for my D500 As a D500 owner I have both XQD and UHS-II card. This reader can work for both of them. And the speed is fast. I got 240 MB/s when copying from my Sony G 128 GB XQD card to my laptop with Crucial MX200 MSATA SSD. In the instructions came with the reader, it says that you can not put both XQD and SD card into that reader together, otherwise it may not function properly. I just want to know is there anyone tried to put 2 cards at the same time and copy data from one the the other. I want to know what will happen?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Fast I got this to unload pictures off the XQD card. This is finally a product that runs fast even though USB 3.0. How fast? 100 RAW images, about 4.5 GB of memory transferred to my computer in about 37 seconds. So, i now know that USB 3.0 can handle the speeds we've been told. It's just a matter of getting a card and device that will support it. I got the fastest SDXC available and it's not near a quick as this. So, I'm not sure if it's the USB adapter or the SDXC card. Either way, if you end up getting a D500, you'll need this.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Runs very HOT otherwise seems to work While this device run flawless, it runs very hot. Even when I remove XQD card the device still is very hot. I am concerned this will cause problems down the road either electrically or in cards.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love the speed and convenience of the double function! I use this reader for both Lexar and Sony XQD cards for my Nikon D5 and D500 as well as Lexar and San Disk SDXC cards for my D500 and D810, and my Sony A 7R II and RX100 IV. It just does what it's supposed to do very well. It's fast and reliable. It seems to run a bit hot, but that does not reduce performance, so I'm not dinging it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed After using this reader with a Lexar XQD card, I just wasn't impressed. I also have a Lexar XQD card reader that was bundled with my XQD card. The Lexar reader is also sold separately for $24.95. I ran an informal test -- 274 jpg and RAW files (Nikon) with 5.1GB of space. Time to upload to my laptop via USB 3.0 port -- 1 minute, 6 seconds with this reader, and only 51 seconds with the Lexar reader. Not a huge difference, but then what am I getting for the extra $30 I paid? An SD card slot? I should have just purchased another Lexar reader for half the price of this one.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Ideal for D850 Owners Works as advertised. It is fast, and it reads the same 2 types of cards that D850s use. Almost like Sony made it just for D850s... Minus .5 star for having to use a cord, instead of just being able to plug it directly into the computer... Minus another .5 star for the flimsy connection on the back of the reader where the cord plugs in. The cord has never come out while in use, but it pulls out very easily, and does not bottom out (like most connectors do) when connected. I miss Lexar... Does anyone else miss Lexar too?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good at what it does. The reader is well made, slim so it will fit in your camera bag easily and accepts cards with no problem. Ejection of the cards mimics the slots in my D500: a gentle push in and the card pops out. I saw several reviews that commented on the reader getting hot. I have not experienced this at all. I don't leave the card in the reader for long and I unplug it from the USB port when done. The reader has never been more than slightly warm.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Reader Failed at 18 Months I purchased this reader back in June 2016 when I got my D500. Used lightly until my wife and I upgraded our D810's to D850's. I began using it pretty heavily as I fine tuned the focus on each camera for all our lenses. 2 days ago, Lightroom couldn't finish uploads and then when I'd insert a memory card, the drive would disappear in Lightroom and windows explorer. At first I thought a memory card went bad but fortunately I had a second one of these with my laptop and it worked as expected. Also tested other USB cables to see if that was the problem but that didn't fix it either. The unit worked very well prior to failing and there aren't many alternatives out there. Nothing last forever but I'm disappointed this one didn't last longer. I hope it's just a fluke! Warranty is only 1 year.
