I agonized, at the time, in getting Sony's GM lens. This seemed to be a lens with great optics. I have used it for some time.
My only beef is that Sony, when the new/er 24-70 f2.8 II was released, there was no contact to incentivize and help purchase the newer model. That would have been SO helpful as I cannot turn around and simply buy another.

The Sony FE 24-70mm f/2.8 GM Lens is designed to be resistant to dust and moisture. The weather sealing will protect the lens from light rain or splashes but it may not withstand heavy rain or submersion in water.
