QDA-SB1/J XQD USB Adapter is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 39.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does what it's supposed to do It's a pretty expensive piece of gear for what it is: a plastic case with a USB connection. It's a USB 3.0, so very fast, which is great, especially with 128GB per card after a long day of shooting. I wish its cost was more like USD 20, but perhaps the electronics inside are super complex and I am not fully aware of their cost. Anyhow, it's been a reliable piece of equipment, critical for production and there's no question about having it - other option would be to download footage via the cam's usb 2.0 and that would take forever and put the cam at risk (connected to hotel's power supply or overusing batteries, plus having the cam on for longer and longer periods).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Working fine Bought this reader for Lexar 2933x 128gb cards, card is seen instantly when I insert it in the reader on a Windows 10 PC, getting decent speeds, love that Sony included a cable, would have given 5 stars but construction feels a bit cheap.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great, well made The USB plug has a nice cover. Since the adaptor hanging out of a USB port looks like it could be broken right off if hit badly, it is nice that this comes with the cable. But it is also nice that for using in the field, I don't have to bring the cable. This is a good companion for the WD Passport Pro Wireless portable drives in the field: the WD has the SD port and this Sony adaptor works right in the USB 2.0 port. And this is much cheaper than the Sony with XQD + SD.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wish I knew before. NOT ready to use out of the box. Need to find the driver. Took about 15 min of online hunting to find it. Not even sure I have the right one because there are different countries..and I couldn't find the USA on their list. They should include a thumbdrive with proper driver..or develop a reader that doesn't need a driver. Had to install and reboot macbook laptop. Reader worked first time I put the card in. Went to put another card in...it wouldn't load. Tried several times and other cards. Wouldn't load after the first one. I was onsite at a job and was left using the older reader that was failing..which is why I bought this for a shoot. I couldn't test it before because I do not own XQD Cards. I only copy them from videographers. I have yet had time to test it out again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Performs fast, but feels cheap I get pretty fast read speeds off this. But the built quality feels pretty cheap. The main body looks like it's made from two pieces, and they don't fit that snugly together. So if you pick it up and shake it, it will rattle, and you can feel it moving around in your hand as well. I have another multi-format card reader and by comparison, that one feels a lot more solid. The sony reader feels like it's going to fall apart after a few months of use. But I've only had it for a month now so I can't really say how long it will last.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It does its job Its build feels featherweight and flimsy (that's why I gave it four stars), but these same characteristics makes it great and easy for plugging it in any personal computer to manage digital data, and its portable size allows you to carry it anywhere you go. Its included USB cable is useful when your device's USB ports are crowded and taken. I only use one XQD card and one SD card for my Nikon D500, which complicates my file transfers more compared to using my old D7100 (Which takes SD cards, like many other devices), because so far there are no personal computers with built-in XQD card readers; on the other hand, because of this technology's limited usage and availability, it serves well as an additional security measure against digital information theft.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not a good experience Received this USB adapter, it was DOA, not recognized by my iMac running 10.10.5 or my Pc. running Windows 7.0, Made no difference if I used it directly or with the cable. Tried on a powered hub & directly attached to the USB port. Returned for exchange hope was isolated incident.
