GoPro AABAT-001 overview

  • 1Description

Pop a fully charged GoPro Rechargeable Battery into your HERO5 Black or HERO6 Black and capture your adventures. This rechargeable battery is based on a lithium-ion chemistry and has a capacity of 1220 mAh, slightly larger than the previous generation battery. Despite the size improvement, charge times have improved as well with this generation by taking advantage of the USB-C rapid charging feature. Additionally, an integrated authentication chip handshakes with compatible cameras communicating exact battery percentage, so you know when it's time to recharge.

Rechargeable Battery for HERO5 Black and HERO6 Black is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 49.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excelent!!! I tested this while doing boogie boarding for almost three hours during Florence swell at Far Rockaway,Queens, NY waves were at least 8 feet tall I got hit several times recording surfers by waves and still battery was just working well untill I got 6 minutes left of charge, still it was working just when it got just two minutes left gopro just shot down and save my recordings last recording was for 5 minutes still really good I recommend to have battery replacement or if you plan a long trip to have at least two more batteries keep them fully charged that's the best way to just be ready to catch all the action without missing anything

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Computer charges or saves At first I couldn't understand why the battery had 0 change, dead after being USB connected to the computer overnight. I had to learn that the red charging light is on the bottom of the camera. That's all that should be on when charging. At first I turned the camera on to upload (GoPro calls it offload) videos I had taken. Then I just left it on, the way I do my iPhone. Now after saving my files, I turn the camera off. Then it continues changing. In short, the USB connection is either charge battery or save files, not AND. So far both the Hero 5 battery and the extra battery have power to take continuous video for over an hour. Have not tested limits yet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Needed a 2nd Battery for my GoPro 5 This is a great camera so far. I have a Hero 3 black and Hero 4 black already and I can definitely see the improved img quality from one camera to the next. I use these mainly to catch bts of my photoshoots as well as time lapse video of my photo sessions. I shoot around and in a lot of water so it is nice not to have to put the H5 in a waterproof case because it is already in one and the built in screen is a big improvement from the H4 Blk. The 4K video is good enough for me to creat Cinemagraphs from the footage. Battery life is so important.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No complaints. I bought two. Great batteries. No complaints. Tip on using multiple batteries: I try to use batteries evenly, as to not overuse one and barely use another. I use a label printer and print a small strip with ten letter O's on it. Every time I deplete a battery, I color in the O with a sharpie that I keep in my gear bag. That way one doesn't have 5 uses and the other 1. You're welcome. :)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Go Pro changed battery to force people to buy new rechargers Well we can now expect that any new camera from Go Pro will be a new design, not to improve performance it's just designed to force one to purchase new re chargers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works on Hero 5 Only Great product so far. They are not compatible with the 4 or below. They are also a bit smaller then the old ones so they don't last as long but also don't seem too heat up as much. The biggest thing is the price is good so I would recommend to get a few of them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from the same There is not much to talk about. It continues the same quality and the duration has increased a little, but nothing significant. Even so it remains essential to have extra batteries so as not to be surprised in the middle of nowhere.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Never enough If you're doing a time lapse or recording a wide shot for a long time you need batteries. I've found that they last around 90 minutes per battery recording at 2K 60 FPS. I have multiple batteries and you never have enough.
