This BenQ monitor comes Technicolor Color Certified and covers 100% of the Rec. 709 color space and 96% of the DCI-P3 color space while supporting up to 1.07 billion colors. The included Palette Master Color Calibration software assists in the tweaking of the monitors color palette to ensure colors are represented more accurately, while the Brightness Uniformity function makes it so the display is equally bright from edge to edge.

Once configured, the display features a QHD 2560 x 1440 resolution along with a 1,000:1 native contrast ratio for a crisp, clear picture. The IPS (In-Plane Switching) panel also supports 178° horizontal and vertical viewing angles, which greatly reduces screen distortion when viewing the display from various angles.

Reliable Color Throughout the Workflow
The BenQ PV270's rigorous approach to color management helps ensure color is reproduced consistently throughout the video post-production workflow. From the rough cut phase, through the addition of effects, color correction, and compositing, to the output stage, color is rendered with pinpoint accuracy so that results match intent perfectly.
Rec.709 and DCI-P3 Color Gamut
The PV270 provides 100% coverage of the Rec. 709 and 96% of the DCI-P3 standards, ensuring output for high-definition television and digital cinema matches the colors you have defined. The PV270 also provides 99% coverage of the Adobe RGB color space designed to encompass most of the colors producible for graphic art professionals.
2560 x 1440 (QHD) Resolution with 27" Wide-screen
The high pixel density of 2560 x 1440 (QHD) resolution delivers the crisp picture quality you expect for close reviews and detailed editing, and the spacious wide-screen view provides greater comfort and productivity.
Brightness Uniformity
Brightness uniformity is achieved via delicate process involving the utilization of high precision apparatus to meticulously fine-tune hundreds of sub-regions on the entire screen. It offers a more authentic and consistent viewing experience.
Backlight Sensor
Advanced luminance control not only ensures an ideal level of brightness that is quickly achieved after powering on, but also provides consistency both during a session of use and over the lifetime of the display.
Accurate Color Calibration
Video post-production work calls for fine-grained color calibration, and with PV270's powerful calibration functions, users receive an accurate calibration result.
Hardware Calibration
Hardware calibration allows you to adjust the monitor's image processing chip without changing graphics card output data. Calibration keeps images consistent with originals without being affected by graphics settings. Two monitor preset modes allow calibration results to be saved directly into the monitor.
14-Bit 3D Look Up Table
With the 14-bit 3D Look Up Table (LUT), monitors can display the most accurate color mixture. 14-bit 3D LUT improves RGB color blending accuracy, resulting in good color and gray tone reproduction.
Delta E≤1.5
The BenQ PV270 monitor features Delta E≤1.5 in Rec. 709 and Adobe RGB color spaces to ensure colors are displayed accurately in every stage of video editing workflow. Delta E≤1.5 not only offers viewers a true appearance of the original image.
BenQ Calibration Software
Joint-developed with X-rite, Palette Master is bundled software that can validate calibration settings. A user-friendly interface and a variety of adjustment parameters make it a snap to set a customized profile for any job.
GamutDuo enables you to view video simultaneously in different color spaces side-by-side for added comparison convenience and reliability. Moreover, videos from two different sources can be handled this way for easy checking.
Color Display Clone
Color Display Clone eliminates the need for guesswork to achieve accurate color across multiple locations. A built-in color temperature sensor automatically adjusts the picture to ambient light conditions, ensuring color is rendered consistently to your targeted values.
1080/24P Playback
This BenQ monitor supports refresh rates of 72 Hz to ensure 24p film content can be displayed at the correct cadence, without the need for pulldowns which distort playback of the source video.
Software Development Kit (SDK)
An SDK and easy-to-use API are available for studios to develop customized calibration software that meets their highly specific in-house or project requirements.

    BenQ PV270 reviews

    PV270 27" 16:9 Rec.709 / DCI-P3 Color Accurate IPS Monitor is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice display for video editing BenQ loaned me a PV270 for several weeks for the purposes of writing a review. During that time, I used it to extensively edit both 4K and HD content, and found the display a delight to use. This is a 27-inch display with a native resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels. It can be connected using HDMI (1.4, I think), DVI and both standard and mini DisplayPort. I initially connected it using the DVI cable that ran to my existing display, but this resulted in fuzzy and color-rimmed objects on the screen when using 2,560 x 1,440 resolution. I contacted BenQ and was advised to use the DVI cable that shipped with the display. Bam! That fixed the problem and the display looked terrific. I really enjoyed the clarity and color precision of the PV270. It is calibrated to the Rec. 709 color standard and shows colors just the way you expect them to look. It also has 14-bit LUT processing to match the display with a computer's display card and camera characteristics. One other interesting feature is the PV270's flexible mount that allows the display to be raised and rotated to permit editing/layout vertically. I show two photos -- one horizontal for typical use and the other with the display rotated to the vertical position, which the PV270 does easily. As long as your cables are long enough to make the vertical transition. I have also reviewed this display on YouTube, so you can go to YouTube and search on benq pv270 to find that review. That will give you some visual sense of how the PV270 looks and works. I enjoyed my time with the BenQ PV270 very much. I recommend it.
