Think Tank Photo Harddrive V2.0 overview

  • 1Description

Take your photography gear on the road with the versatile, well made, black StreetWalker HardDrive V2.0 Backpack from Think Tank. Inside the spacious, padded, zippered main compartment are touch-fastening dividers for organizing a gripped pro DSLR with attached 70-200mm f/2.8 lens, seven additional lenses, a flash, and the included rain cover. Under the lid are clear-mesh zip pockets for accessories. The rear of the pack features a zippered laptop compartment for your up to 15" laptop and 13" tablet. On the front of the pack are an adjustable quick release strap and a tripod cup complemented by a tripod strap, for attaching a medium-sized tripod.

Also on the exterior front of the pack are two zippered front pockets. The upper one has an organizer panel for smaller items such as pens, batteries, memory cards, and a cell phone. Dual zippered pockets on either side of the pack have matching stretch pockets for storing a water bottle, gloves, or other gear. On top of the pack is an ID card holder and a padded grip handle. For added security, the YKK zipper pulls can accept a user-supplied, optional padlock.

The StreetWalker HardDrive V2.0 is comfortably worn with the padded shoulder straps, chest connector, and removable waist belt. Stretch pockets on the shoulder straps are useful for storing sunglasses or other small items. Above each pocket is a D-ring for attaching a front-mounted camera or other gear. Photographers will greatly appreciate the breathable air-mesh back panel, lumbar support, and cooling air channels. For strength and durability, the pack is constructed from 1680D ballistic nylon, closed-cell PU foam, water-repellent coatings, and antique nickel-plated metal hardware.

Bottom front pocket can be used to carry a tripod or monopod (tripod strap included). A pop-out tripod cup is built-in for carrying a larger tripod.
Think Tank's Thin Skin Belt, Pro Speed Belt, or Steroid Speed Belt (sold separately) can be attached for carrying Modular, Skin, or Multimedia components. The belts allow you to keep gear around your waist, where it's most accessible.

Think Tank Photo Harddrive V2.0 reviews

StreetWalker HardDrive V2.0 Backpack (Black) is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clean exterior I ordered this for a trip to Africa due to it's carry-on size and it's clean exterior. The packs that I have have lots of straps hanging off them and the waist belts are not removable which makes the pack annoying when carrying them on and off the plane and storing them under the seats. This pack holds it's shape well and doesn't bulge out everywhere which also gets annoying while placing under seats on planes in the little space that you get as well. I like this pack enough that I have another one on the way right now before the trip but the next size smaller, the "Think Tank PhotoStreetWalker Pro V2.0 Backpack" to carry my EF 400 f/2.8 IS with body attached.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Functional and comfortable I'm carrying a Nikon D810, D7100, 70-200mm f/4 VR, 24-270mm, 20mm f/1.8, 85mm f/1.8, and 50mm f/1.8, along with two speed lights, filters, Gorillapod, batteries, etc.. This pack has a comfortable harness with thick padding, rain cover, D-ring attachments for the Think Tank camera strap, etc.. Good protection for the gear, lockable zippers for security, (with your own lock) and it looks good. I'm quite happy, and would recommend this pack to anyone with a similar amount of gear to carry. As always, fast shipping from B&H.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Suits my needs very well This is a large back pack and when fully loaded with gear is quite heavy. I wouldn't hike 5 miles with it unless it was partially loaded but it suits my needs very well. I tend to take most of my gear with me most of the time. I load it up with gear and my Gitzo 1228 MK II tripod (with Kirk ballhead) and put it on my back. I grab my 600mm in one hand and 200-400 mm zoom in the other and walk to my car and then from my car to a shooting site--usually less than 1/2 mile. I put two tripod feet in the bottom zippered pocket (leaving one outside the pocket--the way they describe in the video). Moving the tripod restraining straps to the front in the V2.0 model was a big improvement and they hold the tripod very securely. I also really like the heavy duty plastic zippered pockets on the inside of the "lid". I put all my camera and flash batteries in one and all my cords in the other. I generally don't carry a laptop but I did notice the following: In Think Tank's literature I seem to recall that they claim this bag will hold a 15" laptop. When mine arrived it had a separate tag attached to the laptop pocket zipper that says "fits 13.3" laptop." The laptop compartment is tight and I doubt a 15" would fit. There is a separate compartment for a tablet. The laptop shoulder straps are pretty comfortable but the bag can be so heavy that I'm still experimenting with adjustments to find the least uncomfortable way to position it. It has a simple waist belt but that doesn't really help carry the load and I've found I don't use it. A detachable hip belt to help support the weight when fully loaded would be a nice addition and would have garnered a five star rating. The bag is well made and will undoubtedly last me many years.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Backpack, but one thing made me return it.. Needed a backpack to store (and maybe carry) my gear, and Think Tank Photo StreetWalker Harddrive V2.0 is great. It has a nice design, great build, it's firm, has a lot of space, is super big, has a rain protection cape, lots of pockets, BUT... ..despite the announce saying that it fits a 15" laptop, it didn't fit mine. I have a Sager Gaming/Editing laptop and it is thicker than normal laptops, due to the fact that it needs space for its laptop fans. Since the laptop pocket opens facing the top of the backpack (and not the side as it does on V1.0), it just doesn't fit, thats why im giving the backpack 4 out of 5 stars. It saddened me, because i really loved this backpack, but had to return it and trade for a Ruggard Thunderhead 75, that is a little bit bigger than the StreetWalker HardDrive V2.0, but it fits my laptop with my gear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Should have bought this first Love my Streetwalker HardDrive v2.0 backpack, I only wish I'd bought it as my first bag. Instead, I bought a bag, then a bigger bag, and a backpack, then another bigger bag. Great construction, lots of special touches. This will probably be my last bag.
