This is by far one of the best cameras on the market that is available to the public and still in the budget category, making it accessible to those who have to provide their own gear. While great, there a few things that kept it from all 5 stars from me. The 3.5 mm charging and data cable is proprietary and therefore makes charging on the go and data collection or sharing difficult due to the camera not using a common cable. The software used to support the camera works well enough but does mess with mobile phone settings a bit. Pros: Affordable Sturdy Longer battery life than most Clean look Great video and still images with stabilization Lanyard hook very useful IR lights for night time operations is top notch Stealth mode Cons: Proprietary cable for charging, preventing charging on shift Battery lasts about 9.5 hours, shorter than advertised Long connection times to mobile devices and turns off wifi and bluetooth All in all. Would recommend this to all who have to buy their own equipment for work.

First off this camera is heavy and will sag on your gear unless you have a solid point on a shirt or vest to mount this camera.  The video quality is on point perfect no complaints there at all.  The battery life could be better and the only way to make it a bit better is to have the camera set so it doesnt give you prerecord. operation of the cam is easy and setup is fairly simple.  For a mid grade camera its worth the money.

Doesnt allow you to delete videos

Its a good body cam but you cant delete videos when you back them up. There is no option to delete them and I emailed the service department and they said its not a feature right now. That makes absolutely no sense. I would not buy again for this very reason. We dont need to keep every accidental recording that an officer makes.

Great battery life, great quality

After using another body cam for 3 years, it was time to replace. The body cam is used for police shifts (traffic). Today was the 3rd time I used it. The first two times the shifts were rather short but today from 0800 till 1630. The camera was in highest resolution, no IR, no IS, buffering on for 30sec. At 0830 the battery was at around 95% and at the end got to around 15%. Excellent! FW: 1.7 Pros: great image quality day or night; excellent battery life with buffering; great audio. Cons: no possibility to cancel audio on pre-record (known as buffering here); use of non standard cable (3.5mm to USB); not sure about support from Transcend, since tried to contact them before purchase and reply at all to my inquiries. Not sure how and if it will stand in shifts during heavy rains. I can highly recommend it, especially after looking and checking alternatives in this price range for months and monts.

I am the operations manager for a security company in North Carolina and I purchased this camera back when it was first released on the market as a replacement for the DrivePro Body 10 that I lost during an altercation at our nightclub contract. When it was first released, I experienced a few issues with the DrivePro Toolbox but I expected that as it was a new product for Transcend. The problems I experienced were quickly rectified by Transcend as the camera picked up more users. The only problem I have is with the app; however, it's not a deal breaker for me I prefer to have everything on the computer so I can transfer it to a flash drive to submit to the police and courts as evidence. Compared to the Body 10, which is a great camera itself, the Body 30 is far superior. With Image Stabilization and Auto IR turned on you are guaranteed to never miss what you intend to record as the IR only activates in extremely low lighting. With Stealth Mode activated you can sneak up on situations to determine what's going on before anyone involved in the situation even knows that you are there or you can turn it on to trick someone into thinking that you have stopped recording. All in all, I love this camera and am looking forward to continuing to use it in the field. As a side note for the people who are complaining about the beeping and buzzing the camera makes being audible in their recordings, that is not limited to this camera. I work closely with Officers from CMPD and they have told me that the AXON (Taser) body cameras that they are issued do it as well.

Some complain of its weight, it has big batteries giving the absolute longest recording time of 10 hours and more. Others complain how when uploading recorded files the user cannot delete files freely, since integrity of the user must be at its highest there should be zero access to delete any files. The rugged body and solid nature give a huge amount of confidence. My team has made several purchases of this particular camera and are fully pleased by its performance. I am certain once you check other cameras and the specs offered you will agree this unit is above those others. Traffic Safety and Operations advisor for ORW and RNR, past member CTRR, RRR.

Transcend DrivePro Body 30 1080p Body Camera BH #TRS64GDPB30A should be worn high up on the chest or shoulder. Make sure that Audio and Audio buffering are switched to the "ON" positions.

Warranty is included but what about the battery and the clip to attach it to a vest or shirt? Also, is it compatible with MacOS Catalina or MacBook Pro?

The battery is built into the camera and is covered under the camera's two year warranty. The clip is not covered but replacement clips can be purchased separately. The camera and software are compatible with Mac OS 10.14 or later

You will need to download the Drive Pro Body application on your phone and connect to the WiFi signal produced by the body camera.

Does this work while charging? My thought process is possibly using this as a dashcam and wearing when needed.

I don't see a reason why not and none of the documentation say anything one way or the other, however, it does say that while the unit is plugged into the charger then it is not water resistant.
