So I purchased this Eyecup for my Lumix G9 to replace the original Eyecup which was lost. This Panasonic DMW-EC4 Eyecup is actually larger than the original eyecup that came with the G9 but it works fine.

Why doesn't the G9 ship with this? The EVF is so good compared to my GH3 that I use it a lot more than I did with the old camera. Now I can really snug my eye in there and cut out all sunlight and glare. A little pricey for a piece of rubberized plastic or whatever, but I'm happy I got it. It does stick out more so be careful removing your camera from tight quarters so you don't lose it since you'll be sad you did.

Is this eyecup the same that comes with the camera when purchased new? Or is it different and better?
Clarification of my question:
Is this eyecup the same that comes new and installed with the Panasonic DC-G9 camera? I am asking because I would like an improved eyecup for the G9 cam over the existing one that comes installed on the camera new. I don't need to purchase the EC4 if It's already installed on the camera.

I only have a G-9 am not familiar with the GH-5, my best guess is that the DMW-EC4 eyecup
doesn't fit the GH-5.
