Add additional connectivity to your USB Type-C equipped notebook with the Compact USB-Type C 10-Port Docking Station from IOGear. This docking station has a total of ten ports including: a USB 3.1 Type-C port, three USB 3.0 Type-A ports, a Gigabit Ethernet LAN jack, an audio in/out jack, an SD/microSD card reader, as well as VGA, Mini DisplayPort, and HDMI outputs. Thanks to power pass-through, you'll be able to charge devices via the Type-C connector with up to 60 W of power. Moreover, its Mini DisplayPort and HDMI ports can support up to a 4K display; however, a dual monitor setup using Mini DisplayPort or HDMI with VGA connectivity will limit the resolution on both displays to 1080p.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works with iMac after much trial and error. Phone also works It did not work plugging directly into a VGA splitter. Although I plan to update our room to all HDMI, we still have three displays that are VGA, sourced through a splitter. I had to run one cable directly from the iMac to a monitor, and then run another to a splitter. For some reason it needs a direct connection to a monitor/projector for a signal to be then split separately. Maybe it's a Mac thing, not sure. Everything else works fine. Haven't tried the gigabit connector though. I do wish the cord was a bit longer since I'm using it with an iMac and not a laptop. It barely reaches the desktop when connected. I also used it to connect a display to my HTC 10 phone since it has a USB-C charging port. I just had to provide power to the adapter via a phone charger connected to the USB-C port on the docking station.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great once you know how to use it It is very useful to extend a Windows 10 laptop with a USB-C video output to two external 1920x1080 or 1920x1200 monitors along with other wired USB Type-A accessories like a keyboard and mouse. To have two external monitors, you must have Windows (not a Mac) and you must use the Mini DisplayPort output for one of the monitors with a cable that connects directly to a Mini DisplayPort or DisplayPort input on a monitor. Also, make sure that you connect it to a USB-C port on your laptop that supports video output. I have a laptop that uses the integrated graphics of an i7-8550U Intel processor connected to 2 HP 2415U 1920x1200 monitors, one using HDMI and the other using the Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable that comes with the monitor, and it works great. This allows you to have a 3-display setup at work (including the laptop display) that only requires a single cable to connect and disconnect your laptop as you start and end your work day. It was 4 stars for me because all of this was not obvious and required some research and experimentation on my part, but now it is 5 stars now that I know how to use it for 3 displays. Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bad for Apple MacBook Pro 2017 I have an Apple 13.3" MacBook Pro Mid 2017 and when I plug this device in it creates a problem with the grounding, the wifi has so much noise it turns off or it is 1.2 out of 120mbps. I used aluminium foil to wrap around the cord and the device so now I have 30 out of 120mbps, when it drops (every 3 days) to 1.2mbps I just touch the device with my hand and it gets back on 30mbps. :/ When I plug in my external monitor it heats but it is ok, If I plug in the power cable of my laptop the heat is very high so I don't use it. Mini Display Port I use for the external monitor (fullhd) and is good, I tested the VGA and HDMI they work but the image is blurry on my Dell U2414, USB ports are fast and ok, the audio connector is also good. I like how the device looks and how it is built but this problem with the grounding can't be solved so I will need to sell it to a Windows user maybe (don't know if it works on windows laptops) or throw it in the trash.
