    Lowepro 300 AW II Reviews

Flipside 300 AW II Camera Backpack (Black) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bag This is a great bag for a typical amateur DSLR setup. I have a T7i with 4 lenses, flash unit, cleaning kit and a few accessories set up in this bag. The ability to open it from the waist belt is pretty cool. And although it's a little weird to open the back of a pack instead of the front, it works fine when you have it placed on a bench or table; you just have to fold the shoulder straps out of the way. I think the pouch on the back could be a little larger, though that would interfere with laying the bag on a flat surface, or the ability to use the tripod holder. Overall I'm very happy with this bag. The quality and materials are great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic ergonomics and engin This bag delivers on all counts. It holds a ton of gear: Sony a7iii, 70-200 f4, 24-105, 16-35 f2.8, 55 1.8, and samyang 35 f2.8, plus filters, cards, mf cloths, batteries, remote shutter trigger, a 10 tablet and a slew of other small items. Easy access to all without putting the bag down in water or mud or nasty city streets! Zippers work fantastic all around! Small enough to count as 2nd carry on (personal item) on airplanes! Thats huge because no way am I checking all that gear! It also fits easily between your feet when in a car or bus or subway. Very inconspicuous! Built in rain cover and tripod system are excellent, and the side straps let you attach anything from a fleece or coat to a lowepro S&F lens pouch to either side. All around one of the best small bags I have ever owned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable This a very comfortable bag. ?I am 5'1" female and it is a very good fit. ?It will not hold all of my equipment, but if it could I wouldn't be able to carry it. ?I fill the bag with the equipment that I plan on using for the day. ?I had a 6D Canon body, a Canon Mark III body a 100mm macro, a 180mm macro an a 50mm f.1.4 lens plus spare batteries, wipe cloth, my wallet and keys and still had some room in the front storage compartment. ?Also had a tripod on the outside and a bottle of water.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not as good as the original Flipside 300 I have used the original Flipside for over five years and it has definitely spoiled me! I love that backpack but I needed a second one and was looking forward to the improvements of the 300 AW II. Unfortunately it was a disappointment and I am returning it. The main zipper is easier to zip around the top but it is not covered. The construction has the flip straps attached to the zipper rather than an inch away like the original. So when using it as intended the straps pull the zipper in such a way that it takes two hands to zip it.  I was looking forward to having two water bottle pockets for longer hikes. Unfortunately the design changed and the water bottles fall out when using the backpack as intended. The pockets are an inch shorter and the bottom is not stretchy. This means that the elastic no longer goes around the neck of 16 once water bottles. I do like the additional compartment but the two issues described above make it unusable. I cant have my camera or water bottles falling in the bayou while Im struggling to get the zipper started.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice day bag I purchased this bag primarily to accommodate my?Canon 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM Lens mounted to DSLR body with grip.? I have test packed it and satisfied myself that it will easily fulfill it's purpose and still allow me to bring additional items.? I just used it for a day of shooting with a Canon 5D MK IV with grip and?24-70mm f/2.8L II USM, not the 100-400.? It worked very well as a day-bag.? This was a day that entailed a car drive, walking (not hiking), and several water ferry trips.??It was light-weight and a just-right size.?? Like many of us, I have a number of bags, both smaller and? larger.? Smaller than this is great to minimize load, but provides little flexibility for accessories, additional lenses, or a place to stash even a snack, windbreaker or hat to cover my old bald head. I have a Lowepro ProTactic 450 AW which is a great bag when I want or need to carry a lot of gear and a backup body, laptop, etc.? It's heavy when loaded and even if I know enough about the shooting day to leave some kit at home to lighten the load, it's just a large bag in all dimensions and not very suitable in a crowded or urban environment except for transporting gear. I found the?Flipside 300 AW II to be just about right.? The shoulder straps were comfortable and adequately adjustable.? I used the chest strap but didn't need the waist belt, but it would add to comfort when carrying more weight.? I found it narrow enough to settle comfortably on my back width-wise, and not so deep that I was inadvertently backing into things or people when positioning for a shot.? I also found that when I was wearing and using the camera I had enough room inside the bag to stow some of our personal items that we carried separately when the camera was not in use.? I saw that I could also pack a second body without lens attached if desired.? The removable padded pocket is really handy and adds to the flexibility.? I checked but can't quite get my 15 in laptop into the tablet pocket, but as advertised it will easily accommodate a tablet or large paper pad if needed.? Impressively flexible.?? I should also mention, I tried out the Lowepro?Flipside 300 (version 1) before swapping it for the version II.? I found the width of the version 1 bag to be just a bit narrow, limiting the ability to carry additional lenses or gear.? I seemed like a nice bag and a great value if it will work for you.? I've considered the Flipside 400 (I or II) which would provide even more room, but would be close to duplicating my 450 and probably not as flexible in those crowded or urban environments I mentioned earlier. To circle back, even though I haven't yet used it for it's intended purpose of carrying the 100-400 mounted, my recent excursion confirmed for me that it will do a great job.? This will likely become my everyday bag due to it's convenience and flexibility.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits what I need and comfortable This is exactly what I needed when traveling by air. I can fit my NIKON 810 with either my 24-70 f2.8 or 70-200 f2.8 attached and the other alongside with my flash, notebook, cards, cords, etc and it fits under the seat or in the overhead. I put my chargers and other stuff in my suitcase and have this backpack to wear on my daily jaunts and shoots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great bag! I used to have the first version of this bag. Loved that one when I had my canon 5D lll. I bought the new second version which has great upgrades like an outside front pocket for a tablet or important papers like a passport! Bag also includes a tripod carry on the front. I am currently carrying a Sony a9 with a 70-200, a canon 50mm 1.2, and the canon 16-35 2.8 around Europe and the bag feels great. I recommend this bag for anyone with similar gear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice bag Lots of smart interior space in a compact package that works well with airline travel. Just wish it had a longer back, as I'm tall
