The PNL-D850 L-Bracket for Nikon D850 from Sunwayfoto is a dedicated single-piece plate design that has Arca-type compatible dovetail mounts. Sunwayfoto PNL-D850 Overview

The PNL-D850 L-Bracket for Nikon D850 from Sunwayfoto is a dedicated single-piece plate design that has Arca-type compatible dovetail mounts. This allows the camera to be placed in a vertical or horizontal orientation without losing your center of axis on a tripod head. The CNC machined aluminum L-bracket maintains access to the camera's battery door and data ports, but if you need to gain more access to the ports, the slotted channel at the base of the bracket allows the camera to slide over by loosening and retightening the mounting stud.

Camera movement is prevented by an anti-twist flange, and safety stops on both axes also prevent the camera from sliding or falling out if a clamp is accidentally opened. In addition, the aluminum has a durable Type III black anodized finish, and a loop has been machined for a hand or camera strap.

I've had this bracket for several years and it works well. I use it as a camera grip as well as use on a tripod, copy stand, etc. I replaced the camera mounting screw with one having a pop-up ring for finger tightening.

Well, I've used RRS and Kirk L plates exclusively. They are top notch. This Sunway L plate seems just as nice. Very well made, just as sturdy and fits mounts perfectly. Finish is just as nice as the expensive ones . I always buy best I can but I think I have found the same quality for a price that is more affordable.

Do you have to remove metal from the entire top of the rear ant-twist flange, or just one corner of the right end when seen from the rear?

I did have to remove some metal for the bracket to fit perfectly parallel to the bracket, but only from the right side of camera-back area. If you don't, the camera will point slightly left versus directly perpendicular to the bracket the way it should.

is it possible to get a replacement camera screw - is it a widely available screw? I have almost reamed out the one for my Nikon D600 and am concerned I will do the same for this one

The Sunwayfoto PNL-D850 L-Bracket for the Nikon D850 will fit the Nikon D810 DSLR Camera, but the battery door and side ports might be blocked. Instead, get the Sunwayfoto PNL-D810R L-Bracket for Nikon D810, BH #SUPNLD810R.

This Sunwayfoto L bracket mounts via an Arca-Swiss clamp. Manfrotto does not have Arca-Swiss clamping system. This includes the 496RC2. Either get a Arca-Swiss head or convert the 496RC2 to both systems with this: Sunwayfoto Arca & Manfrotto Compatible Clamp B&H # SUMAC14 . You will be able to use Arca-Swiss plates and the 200PL-14 Quick Release Plate that comes with the 496RC2.

Is this bracket threaded on the bottom so I can add another Arca Swiss compatible plate to the bottom so I can use it on a Wimberly Gimbal Head?

Does it fit to andoer ball head?

You should have no problems. I have Manfrotto tri-pods and to save the problem I bought swis arc plate adopters and attached them to the manfrotto plate I now have two locks for the camera and I can still use all of my manfrotto heads.

Yes the screen will be able to fully tilt, but the bracket has to be on the camera in the exact right position.
