    Samsung 860 EVO reviews

2TB 860 EVO SATA III 2.5" Internal SSD is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy with my new 500GB Samsung 860 EVO Hello, this is my 7th SSD from the Evo series with the previous ones being 2 840s 3 850s and 1 960, and like with all the other Samsung Evos I have had price/performance is stellar, I don't have any issues on this just like I didn't have any issues with my previous SSDS which I still have in raids etc. in my desktop computer, this one is just to add extra storage. Thanks for the reliable SSDs you make. It's the only Samsung products I buy, but it is also the best products Samsung makes. The design is kinda meh, but it's hidden away so it's no big deal to me. I vastly prefer the design of the M.2s but again, form factor makes this impossible to replicate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Third SSD & First Not To FAIL I've purchased a few SSD';s for desktop HDD replacements and after the first two, including their RMA's failed, I sought input from fellow PC enthusiasts and the Samsung 860-EVO was the SSD recommended by a lot of individuals! Well over a dozen people informed me that I would not be disappointed with this SSD, and after using it since early April 2018 I have to report I am extremely pleased! Thanks to anyone who suggested this SSD and furthermore, anybody looking for an SSD, don't purchase a low end less expensive SSD...buy this one and you won't be disappointed!! Thanks Samsung!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Getting the run around New install on new Itel NUC - thing worked half way - will not recognize on any devices at all - even tried USB - linux and 3 computers. Then I fill out the RMA for and was told to call 1-800-samsung after I fill everything out. Then the phone tells me they are closed and told to go to sumsung.com/support to get live chat. Hello!! there is none. Even NEwegg didnt want this thing back, Happy with the m.2 I bought - now - I am playing around trying to get this replaced - Hoop Jumping not Fun. Should have did a WD blue or something... Or better yet get a teamgroup one and deal with failures they might not have...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Copious space with even faster boot and access speeds I honestly had some difficulties cloning my system from the prior Samsung 840 EVO 1TB to this 2TB 860 EVO, but I succeeded after a few tries by making sure the clone had the three partitions (system, C: and recovery), which is something I never had to do before. Nevertheless this SSD is definitely the fastest I've used as my root drive and also allows me to keep more of my photos in temp storage on the root drive after a photo shoot. Thanks Samsung for everything except the price: could be lowered a bit more to ease the pain!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Faster than a Speeding Bullet I have a fully loaded Mac Mini (mid 2012) meaning it maxed out all options when I bought it. It came with a 1 TB Fusion drive. I got tired of waiting for Apple to come out with either a new Mac Mini or a new Mac Pro, so I decided to replace the Fusion drive with a 2 TB solid state drive. I did not want an iMac Pro, since I didn't want the screen. I can't believe the speed increases I have gotten in transferring photos to and from external drives, and I am talking about up to 300 GB at a time. My best guess is the copying time has been reduced by 80%. Smaller folders of up to 5-6 GB seem almost instantaneous. It's harder for me to guess how much faster Light Room processing is as the photos sit on an external drive that is much slower. Net net installing the SSD is a big win.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome SSD Installed it on my mid 2010 iMac 27. Fast and reliable so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great laptop update I replaced a really slow HDD in my Toshiba laptop with the 500Gb SSD, and it was so simple. Samsung's Data Migration s/w made the cloning process so easy. Instead of minutes to awaken from hibernation, it is now only seconds. I was so impressed I upgraded my brother-in-law's laptop (also with a very slow and old HDD) with with a second 860 EVO 500Gb SSD, with very similar pleasing results. I also really appreciate having the Magician monitoring s/w too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super fast and reliable I have 2 laptops with 1TB Samsung EVO SSDs so when the hard drive failed in my iMac I wanted one of these drives 2TB to replace it. I researched it and big difference I found between the 850 EVO and the newer 860 EVO is the number of write cycle they are rated for. The 860 EVO should last at least twice as long as the older model which I have been using for years. They are super fast and reliable.
