General Features

For Content Creators
Multitaskers can now work in a generous 5:9 area while simultaneously viewing a 16:9 4K video on the same screen. The 5K2K 21:9 display of the 34WK95U offers a 5120 x 2160 resolution optimized for video editors, programmers, and developers, with convenient single-cable Thunderbolt 3 connectivity.
VESA DisplayHDR 600
Discover a more lifelike picture with high dynamic range, which provides bolder contrast between the brightest and darkest areas of the screen. This HDR 600 monitor has been rated to deliver a peak luminance of 600 nits for spectacular highlights. Please note that DisplayHDR 600 requires HDR10 support.
Nano IPS Display - Accurate Color
More accurate color and a broader contrast ratio combine to deliver high picture quality. High dynamic range (HDR) makes bright and dark portions of the image even more so, while Nano IPS controls color better, covering 98% of the DCI-P3 color space, the digital film industry standard. DCI-P3 is typically 35% larger than 100% sRGB coverage.
Color Range with DCI-P3
Editing on-site footage with full color expression is possible with DCI-P3 Digital Cinema Color Standard. It reproduces digital color content just as you intended with the preview camera on site, allowing for accurate conditions like shadow detail, color, saturation, and brightness for precise editing & overall control in post-production.
Delicate Color Expression
Nanometer-sized particles on the screen's LED absorb excess light wavelengths, realizing richer color expression that accurately reproduces the content, from actual images and videos to CG.
Thunderbolt 3
Simplify setup with a single cable for video, audio, and data transfers, as well as simultaneous laptop charging up to 85W. Designed for demanding professionals, this versatile and compact port enables 40 Gb/s data transfers and high-bandwidth video, including a 4K signal to two different screens, or 5K/60 fps to a single screen.
Faster Speeds
Thunderbolt 3 operates at speeds up to 40 Gb/s, which is twice as fast as Thunderbolt 2 and eight times faster than USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1.
On-Screen Control - Versatile Display Settings
On-Screen Control puts a host of essential monitor settings into a handy window for quick, easy access. Volume, brightness, picture mode presets, Screen Split, and more can now be adjusted with just a few clicks of the mouse, instead of hard buttons on the monitor.
Virtually Borderless Design
With an ultra-thin bezel, the slim and sleek design unites form and function to offer a virtually borderless visual viewing experience.

    LG 34WK95U-W Reviews

    34WK95U-W 34- 21:9 UltraWide 5K Nano IPS Monitor is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 38.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazing monitor, works in Linux Have a Dell Precision 7530 w/Quadro P3200 which dual-boots between Windows and LInux. First used with Thunderbolt. Linux worked but slightly quirky. Windows worked but when the laptop went to sleep it hung on re-awake so I had to force kill it. Not good. Switched to using a DisplayPort to MiniDP cable (had to buy one since the one in the only does full DP; make sure you get one that supports 5K!!!). With that, both Windows and Linux work well with it, no issues. Seems as though Thunderbolt is not a super-mature display technology right now but it will be great when it works well. The monitor itself is big an beautiful and gives you an amazing amount of desktop space!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from it work with macbook pro but... hi macbook users, before u return it, if u really love this monitor, dont return yet, wait for apple to upgrade the software to match with monitor like This. However, it can work with macbook pro 2016-2018,please use T3 link with ur mac, try to restart u mac with the monitor plug in and do not let ur monitor sleep when rebooting u mac, during final sign in, the monitor will finally connect with ur mac, u just need do every time when u try to use it. so far I just love this 5k2k no curved ultra wide, u dont have to worry the curved screen with do content creation. and it is color accurate, it may not be real 10 bit, but nano technology helps a lot for that part. I just gonna give it a try.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from USB C not tested but everything else great I didnt get the chance to test my 2018 13 MacBook Pro but the screen colors, sharpness, and format are wonderful. I returned it however given I preferred dual monitors. If LG wasnt coming out with the 38 ultrawide gaming monitor, I would order this one again to go with my 27 16:9 monitor. I attempted to order dual Acer  XB271HUs but the first screen I ordered had issues many have mentioned that affected my daily use and I didnt want to risk it so now Im going dual monitor but ultrawide below and 16:9 above. Note this monitor has local dimming but I wouldnt really consider it much of a selling point, Ill wait for MiniLED for it to be really meaningful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Monitor! Works with 13 2017 Touch Bar MacBook Pro After waiting since April 2018 for this monitor, Im excited to say its here and it works perfectly with my laptop.  This is the monitor that Apple should be making. The colors are excellent and the 5K resolution is beautiful.  The widescreen really improves my productivity. I can have 3 full windows open on the screen at one time and work effectively in all of them. As a computing professional, this is a very sound investment. From a technical point of view, I was concerned that I would struggle to get this to work. As you can see from the screen grabs Ive attached, Im running the latest version of Mojave from Apple and Im getting the full 5120x2160. Notably, initially, I plugged this into my laptop and I was getting a lower resolution than the full 5K. However, I rebooted my Mac and re-plugged the LG provided TB3 cable into the back right TB3 port on my Mac and Voilá! 5K!  Interestingly, initially, the displays speakers didnt work. This morning, they started working... very strange. They sound awful. No-one is buying this monitor for the built in audio! I wish LG skipped it and thru in some USB ports (or heaven forbid an SD card reader). On my laptop, Ive subsequently tried all 4 TB3 ports and now they all work and deliver the full resolution. On Tuesday, 11/20/18, Im taking delivery of the new MacMini and Ill report back on its performance with this monitor. I think the initial negative experiences that folks are having in the other reviews might be software problems, not hardware. Also be aware that not all USB-C / TB3 cables are the same. I have a few of them and Ive tested them with this monitor and so far only the LG provided TB3 Cable works to deliver the full 5120 x 2160. My question for the manufacturers and the standards bodies is, Why create 2-3 separate classes of USB-C / Thunderbolt 3 that use the same exact tiny connector that are not 100% cross compatible? This is confusing for consumers and expensive for retailers and manufacturers who have to take returns on perfectly working products because end-users are rightly confused. Best luck with your purchase. I for one am thrilled with mine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Close to perfect Using it with a 2010 Mac Pro, currently in 4K as the current computer does not support 5K easily.  Display is crisp, design is elegant. Several split screen options are available, although so far I have not had much use for that feature. Went from a 30 Apple Cinema Display, and the additional width of this monitor allows additional windows to be visible simultaneously. Only negative is that the OSD setup navigation is somewhat counterintuitive and the joystick very sensitive. I can highly recommend this monitor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing and Worth It!! Despite concerns that my late 2017 15 MacBook Pro might not work with this display (based on issues with others and their 2018 MacBook Pros documented on LGs website for this monitor), I ordered it and could not be happier with its performance. Its a simple plug & play with my MacBook Pro. This is a 34 wide Retina Display performance-wise and the color and clarity are amazing. After using the monitor for about 3 days, I did have one startup glitch where the laptop was in sleep mode...when it awoke, the monitor would only display 4K resolution rather than 5K. I spoke with a helpful LG rep who told me to simply unplug the monitor (electrical power, not the USB-C cable), hold in the toggle button for 5 seconds (located on the bottom center of the monitor), and then plug it back into the electrical source. This reset worked immediately and there have been no issues since then. BTW, he told me that my MacBook Pro works because it has USB-C 3.0 connections...the 2018 MBPs are 3.1 versions. LG is working on a fix for the 3.1 connection.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Monitor Keep in mind if you are planning to game on it you will need to have 1 X 2080TI OR 2 x 2080Ti in SLI. In Battlefield 5 With SLI set up im getting 60fps on all Ultra Settings with Ray Tracing disabled. If you will enable Ray Tracing you will get 20 FPS.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works fine for Windows PC Some people are saying there are problems with this monitor and using  Macbook. Do your research if that is what you are going to do. I am using the monitor on a Windows 10 desktop with 1080 GTX using a display port. This monitor has 2 HDMI ports, 1 Thunderbolt 3 port, 1 display 1.4 port, a USB in port, two USB out ports, and a headphone out jack. In comes with a Thunderbolt cable, display port cable, USB in cable, and power cable, and a CD. Maybe its a DVD, I havent used it. You can raise or lower the height, you can tilt the angle up or down, but you can only change the vertical angle by maybe a couple degrees. I tried to figure out why it wouldnt turn on at first. there is a small joystick type control at the bottom you need to push in. You can control many settings with this joystick/button. It doesnt take long to get used to using it.  If watching something like YouTube in 4K, or I tried 5K also, the left and right of the screen will actually be blank. When using something like Google Maps its like wow. I just got this, so I still need to try playing some games. My next thing to try though is use Adobe Premiere Pro to edit some videos. I am happy with this purchase. I probably will be using the Thunderbolt 3 port in the future. If you want to use this with a Apple computer, do your research first.
