Designed for shooting overhead shots of small objects that cannot easily stand up on their own for frontal shots, the Horizontal Camera Mount from ALZO consists of an aluminum bar that is 33" long and 5/8" in diameter. On this bar is a universal camera screw mount and a tripod clamp, the latter of which attaches to 1/4"-20 camera screws and allows for the extension length of the rod to be adjusted using an integrated thumb screw. Included is a rotating smart phone mount, which can be rotated by clicks of 22.5° to allow for shooting at different angles without having to move the product. Also included is a Bluetooth wireless shutter release that pairs with most iOS and Android devices made since 2010 that are up to 3" wide. Built using aluminum the rod also features a grooved end for hanging a counterweight or other accessories.

Does the job
I purchased the the ALZO camera mount for my wife's art class on Zoom. She demonstrates art techniques on her work table and needed a view above her hands. The horizontal mount enable use to mount a web cam above her for her demos. The device was easy to use and did its job. I haven't had an occasion to mount a digital camera or cell phone, and thus have not used the shutter release device.
Taking overhead photos with horizontal mount
I had been looking for some way to shoot photos of my art work when it was lying on the floor so the art would be perfectly parallel to the camera - after also buying a small level to set on the camera. Use a small telephoto lens to enable me to shoot from 3 feet, not 15 feet for the larger paintings. The bar works well, easy to use. Bad directions, couldn't figure out what one piece was for. Turns out it is to hold a phone if you want to shoot photographs with it rather than a camera.
