Interfit Foldable Octabox Reviews

Most practical and value-for-money Octa!

This is by far the largest octa I could find that fits perfectly in a standard 23kg checked-in suitcase. Even if you won't travel with it, that speaks of its convenience, I reckon. It's compact, it's portable, it's durable. And light quality is also great! (it's got an inner baffle). And comes with a grid (a must for me, for a light this size). Some reviews talk about how hard it is to set it up. I think it's not hard, it just needs some force (which at the beginning feels odd for a foldable modifier), but once I've done a couple of times, I've got no complaint at all. (Do note that it *opens* like an umbrella, but it *is not* an umbrella, in the sense that the light and mount is at the rear, which means you might want to use light that spreads wide right at the source).

Difficult to Open, Great Light Mod

This is an interesting product. Once you get it open it produces a really nice light, and the fact that you can fold it down to such a travel friendly size is great. If this review was based on the light quality alone I would give this product 5 stars. The ergonomics, however, are really hard to work with. I have worked with umbrella type modifiers before, and this one is very difficult to open. Forget about doing it with one hand, and I would not recommend doing this in front a client as they watch you struggle to get it open. The best way to open it is to put it, face down, against the ground and push the back forward. You could get away with this in the studio, but if you are out in the field, that means pushing your modifier down into the grass or dirt. The release button also requires a large amount of force to fold up. If you get this product, the light is great, but the setup is a beast.

I love collapsible soft boxes. This one is not perfect, the materials are not high end by any stretch and it can be a bit cumbersome to get it into expanded position, but it's light weight, it breaks down nicely, the carrying case works well and for $100 it seems relatively durable.

This octabox is the climax of convenience. Pops open and folds in the blink of an eye. Distributes enough soft and even light to be used as an only light source. Absolutely recommended.

Good Light, Best Value

I researched several large octagon softboxes before purchasing this one from Interfit. I wanted a 48 inch box for my small studio. It had to be easy to set up as well as transportable. It needed to have an inner baffle, have solid construction for endurance, and I wanted it to come with a grid. This softbox meets all of those rewatch a modest price. Some softboxes require you to purchase the grid separately and charge much for it. This softbox opens like an umbrella and has a secure snap in the shaft to secure it. It produces nice soft light. Lastly, I wanted a softbox that came with a Bowen’s speed ring. I have not had a lot of time to use the softbox yet, but I have put it through a few tests. So far, I am happy with the product.

Es un flash súper bueno. Me ha gustado mucho para tomar fotografías externas. Y es bueno para usar cubriendo eventos como bodas y también eventos de quince años.

Easy to use.

EXTREMELY DIFFIFULT TO OPEN

The delivery to Canada was fast but I was not able to test the quality of light, as I could not open the softbox. I watched YouTube videos and other reviews to find any tips to open it. Reviewers suggest putting it, face down, against the ground and push the back forward to open it applying a large amount of force. I struggled for more than an hour to open it but no luck. I may not be strong enough to push it all the way or maybe the locking mechanism was faulty. I gave up and packed it back for return. It is worth mentioning that B&H does not pay for return shipment and the package is not small - 6.8 lbs. The return shipment from Canada cost me $50 USD – So I am losing 50% of the cost on return shipment. NOT RECOMMENDED.
