This refurbished unit looks pretty much new. Works great. The wifi is much faster than the stock router that came with my fiber optic modem/router.

Good router for $30. Came in brown refurb box. Looked more like a used router than refurbished (which usually look new to me). The router itself worked fine. Mine came as version 5.8 which was fine to load alternative firmware (openwrt/goldenorb) to it. Can't mention how the original firmware was, as I flashed it immediately. I believe it was at version 14. Alternative firmware flashed from GUI with no issues.

$30 router with 5ghz ac, IPv6, USB sharing and OpenWrt firmware support, what's not to love? I even use mine for Quest 2 Air Link and Virtual Desktop with no hiccups.

B&H never fails

My mother needed a new router, so I decided to get her this one, since I purchased the same model for myself 2 or 3 years ago and have been very happy with it. I was concerned about buying a refurbished one, but the price was so good and B&H has always done right by me, so I decided to give it a shot. As usual, I was not disappointed. The unit looks brand new and works flawlessly. In fact, it's better than mine (newer hardware/firmware version of the same model). There was no shrink-wrapped TP-Link box or user manual included, but that doesn't matter - you can download all documentation online anyway. The B&H box contained the router, an ethernet cable, and power supply, all in pristine condition. B&H never fails to impress me; great products, great prices, and ridiculously fast shipping. Now, whenever I need new tech, my first stop is

As the manufacturers do not provide this information when updating an existing model number, I am unable to verify this for you. It is possible our inventory is mixed with different revisions of the same product. Manufacturers do not update the product model numbers when new revisions are released. As a result, we are unable to discern revisions within individual shipment palettes from the manufacturers. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Asked by: Michael
Your broadband provider should provide a gateway or modem ethernet ports. Connect the WAN port of this router to the modem/gateway by ethernet and follow setup instructions. Make sure once the TP-Link router's wi-fi is set up, you log into the admin settings for your ISP provided modem/gateway to deactivate any built-in wi-fi to prevent signal overlap and interference.
