General Features
Performance Matters
Live life in the fast lane. Whether you're looking to boost your system's overall responsiveness or load games and levels quickly, the WD_BLACK SN750 cuts down on your wait time to get back into action and gets you ahead of the game.
Space to Play
At the core of the WD_BLACK SN750 drive is its NAND technology. By doubling the storage density from its previous generation, WD's 64-layer 3D NAND pushes the limitations of storage and showcases the feat of NAND innovation. This means extended capacity on a single-sided drive that's roughly the size of a stick of gum, yet large enough to store your files and video games.
WD_BLACK SSD Dashboard
The WD_BLACK SSD Dashboard gives you the ability to optimize performance by enabling the gaming mode feature. This disables the low power mode function on the SSD, which keeps your drive firing on all cylinders during intense gaming sessions.

SN750 or SN850 will do you well. I installed this as the primary OS drive on my laptop. I run Windows and Linux on it no problem. It is quick, and doesn't seem to overheat even in the small space. I like that it comes with TLC memory, so it should last. Comes with a good warranty.

Installed 2, 1TB SSD's on a StarTech Dual M.2 PCIe SSD Adapter Card - x8 / x16 Dual NVMe or AHCI M.2 SSD to PCI Express 3.0 - M.2 NGFF PCIe (M-Key) Compatible - Supports 2242, 2260, 2280 - JBOD - Mac & PCPCI Express 3.0 M.2 SSD Adapter Card | For PCIe NVMe and PCIe AHCI M.2 SSDs Product ID: PEX8M2E2 Given the bus and card performance in made no sense to get a faster SSD. Installation was simple and as was formatting and installing macOS on to it. Boots just fine and as fast or faster than the Apple internal drive. Delivery was as promised at the expected time. It was recommended both by WD and StarTech to play it safe and get it with a heatsink. Cost a bit more but eliminates potential issues. Totally functions as expected with excellent presales support.

Solid transfer speeds, solid temperatures, Solid price. I needed a SSD that can handle large file copies or exports without thermal issues and or without fluctuating transfer speeds to HDD standards when the transfer is large (talking 500 to 800GB file transfers). And this drives does exactly that. Very happy with my purchase.

WD does not actually have a 5 year warranty on this. its actually 1 year and their system will not even let you check that. after a year its dead to them. assume a 1 year only if you are choosing a ssd like this. I cant speak to other options. Note BH has been cool but its out of their hands. WD is shady on this. luck.

WD warranty system is a black hole. good luck if yours dies

so far as i can tell these M.2 drives are not covered under a warranty. the automated WD systems dont acknowledge that WD makes these devices. Tried to contact WD about these but no luck there either. Tried Sandisk as well but no joy there. My failed just over 1 year from purchase. 1 star just for WD. My fail was likely bad luck.

Is this drive compatible with ASUS 15.6" Republic of Gamers Strix G15 Series Gaming Laptop?
Asked by: ROBERTO E
Yes, it will work. I have an earlier ASUS notebook and upgraded to a 2tb SSD, very easy. Look on the B&H website for the laptop you're interested in, click on the details and download the service manual (4.4mb). Go to page 14 and it details how to do it, very easy and you'll be happy. Just make sure it's the NVMe version of SSD.

Are these class 40 drives?
Asked by: Daniel
The best answer is what the staff of B&H said in their answer. All I can add is Dell's class system is based on PCI and SATA Interfaces and have no relevance to this type of SSD. If you are a gamer, look at the read write numbers and the type of controller on the motherboard. To be sure, this a very good SSD, but there are faster SSDs out there. Do your research.
