Nanlite PavoTube 30C Reviews

Great if you get all the accessories

With the remote I prefer these over messing with another phone app. Also you'll need wall power plugs, extra clips, magnets and stand holders which are all too expensive. Still cheaper than the newer versions though.

Nice tubes for the price.

Librating to use outdoors

Very easy and intuitive to use, the small LED screen has all the info you need including battery charge, I was also abele to recharge the tubes in the UK and Europe without having to use a bulky voltage converter, just plug them in and go. I have used the tubes shooting against the sun around golden hour and there is more than enough punch to use them as a key and fill light and not having to rely on powering them from the mains is fantastic, now anywhere is a potential evening/night location. Indoors you will find yourself only using a fraction of the tubes output potential as they are quite bright. The clamps they come with are good, but only have a tripod mount size thread, it would of been nice if they also had a bigger thread size so you could use a mic stand or generic light stand, but over all that a small gripe.

Man oh man....I love these lights. So much so, I bought another pair of 4' PavoTubes AND a pair of 10 PavoTubes. Easy to use. Bright. A variety of colors. No strobing on camera. Smooth image with these lights.

Amazing

An essential for video production!

I can't believe I've made in 15 years in film and photography without these (until recently). They are similar in many ways to the Astera Titan Tubes. They don't have the built-like-a-tank hardware, case, and general build as the Asteras but are also roughly 1/8th the price and still have excellent build quality for most applications. I've yet to dive into the advanced features, but even having colored backlights for interviews or a quick, portable key / fill / hair light for photo or video is amazing. We use these on every single shoot now. Stop looking and buy them.

Bought 2 more because we loved these so much!

Superb and versatile fixtures. When my business partner said we needed these I didn't believe him. After a few shots I demanded we get more because they are that amazing!

We actually had 4 of these already in our production van to compliment spotlights and panels, but decided we could use a few more. I do wish they connected straight to the app without a separate device as the menu and nobs is pretty clunky, but once you get the level and color dialed in they are truly spectacular to have on set and in studio. We use them for photo and video. Weddings, music videos, short film, and commercials, these are so versatile!

What's the best method to mount this vertically to a tripod?
Asked by: Mike
The Nanlite Pavotube Single T12 LED Tube Holder with 5/8" Receiver would be the best way to mount the Nanlite PavoTube 30C 4' RGBW LED Tube with Internal Battery vertically on a light stand. To mount it on a tripod vertically, you may use the aforementioned adapter, along with the Impact 5/8" Stud with 1/4"-20 Female Threads, B&H # IMSRP112P, to mount on your tripod head. You may then tilt your tripod head for vertical usage. https://bhpho.to/3cmbZVr https://bhpho.to/3Apt7Wl

Nope should be good for just the base lights. Depending on how you use them you may need some kind of support to hold them though.
