GVM GP Motorized Camera Slider Overview

The 32" GVM Professional Video Carbon Fiber Motorized Camera Slider features an 11-pound load capacity as well as a 30" slider range along the carbon fiber rails, but that is just the tip of its capabilities. It has an attached controller that enables you to select and control the start/stop positions of the slider along the track, as well as selecting between video and still photo mode. The carbon fiber rail bed features an adjustable channel that allows you to shoot straight (perpendicular to the track rails) in a parabola to keep a subject centered as the camera tracks from side to side, or it can create a 120° panoramic camera move.

The height-adjustable feet are individually adjustable up to 0.79", allowing you to set up the slider on slightly uneven or non-level terrain, while three 1/4"-20 and three 3/8"-16 threaded mounting holes enable tripod mounting. The slider is powered via a removable 4400mAh NP-F-type battery that will run the slider for about eight hours. An included ball joint head mounts on the slider carriage and allows you to orient your camera easily and hold its position as it moves along the track. Six different camera control cables are included, allowing the slider controller to interface with most cameras.

Load Capacity
The slider supports up to 11 pounds when horizontal, and 5.5 pounds when set at a 30° incline.
Programmable Modes
  • Automatic: Allows you to set the sliding range along the slider as it cycles between the endpoints of the range.
  • Video capture: Suitable for interviews as the motor is silent.
  • Delay shooting: Single-frame shooting (time-lapse) with a selectable delay between 1 and 1000.
Orientation
Adjusting the channel between the support rails allows you to adjust the position of your head on the slider as it moves between the ends of the slider track. The channel can be positioned so there is no movement during the slide. You can also set it so the camera shoots in a parabola to keep the subject centered during the move, or it pans the camera up to 120° to create a panoramic shot.
Camera Compatibility
The slider includes six cables that enable the controller to interface with a variety of cameras from Canon, Sony, Nikon, Pentax, GoPro, Fuji, Panasonic, Lycra, Olympus, Samsung, and others.

GVM GP Motorized Camera Slider Reviews

Smooth, but not perfect

The slider is perfect for what is intended to do, and very well priced. The missing link is the lack of internal memory, which causes the settings to be lost when system is powered off, which means every single use requires a lengthy resetting of the device.

Cheap Quality Slider

There are gaps at the connection points and the product flexes too much. Naturally, the product shakes too much and cannot provide a stable and proper image. Also, since it is a belt system, the motor gear slips off the belt gears in slightly angled or vertical shots (Sony A7SIII and 24-70mm F2.8 lens). In other words, the product is only suitable for horizontal shots parallel to the ground. It is a very poor quality product. It is not a stable and properly working system. I recommend that you pay a little more and look for a better product. Especially do not even think about using this device in commercial shots, you will be disgraced in front of the customer...

Hey all. Does anyone know If this Slider can be checked in on a plane in the States..?? Many thanks
Asked by: Kenny
We recommend that you check with the airline that you are travelling. You will want to observe 2 general rules. 1. All Batteries must be with you when you get on the plane. Batteries are considered a fire hazard therefore they can not be checked. 2. "computerized devices" must be with you when you get on the plane. The remote for this slider is considered a computerized device therefore it can not be checked either. Again we recommend that you check with your airline to make sure that you follow their rules as the specifics may vary from airline to airline. Have a safe trip!

Could this slider be used for stop motion? As in could you set a point A and B, and break that down into the number of frames you want and then move manually to the next frame?
Asked by: Laura
This may be possible, but in our opinion stop motion is still done best by manually moving the position of a camera.

Is there a timelapse cable for fujifilm?
Asked by: GorillaTight
The GVM Professional Video Carbon Fiber Motorized Camera Slider (32") is not a "camera specific" slider. You can use the controls included, combined with an intervalometer for your camera model, to shoot time lapses with your camera.
