The FPV Remote Controller from DJI is specifically designed to exclusively work in conjunction with the DJI FPV Air Unit (not included). The FPV Remote is engineered to communicate piloting signals to the Air Unit via a 7ms ultra-low latency connection, helping to keep your drone movements and what you're seeing via the FPV footage in sync. Supporting Mode 2, the controls of the remote are configured in a style more common in the United States, where pushing forward on the left stick activates the throttle while pushing forward on the right stick activates pitch.

Do you always have to use the goggles with this controller, or does it also work with a phone or iPad? If I'm using it for real estate, I'd probably prefer to skip the goggles
The DJI FPV Remote Controller (Mode 2) is meant for use with the DJI FPV Air Unit. The DJI FPV Air unit will only work with the DJI goggles or analog video transmission systems with third party receivers. Use of smartphones and tablets are not available.
