ASUS VG27AQ Overview

The VG27AQ 27" 16:9 QHD IPS Gaming Monitor from ASUS features a QHD resolution of 2560 x 1440 that provides more workable screen area and sharper images as compared to a Full HD 1920 x 1080 display. This display features IPS (In-Plane Switching) technology, a 165 Hz refresh rate, a 99% sRGB color gamut, a 1000:1 contrast ratio, a 350 nits brightness rating, 178° horizontal and vertical viewing angles, -5 ~ 33° tilt, and support for 16.7 million colors. This QHD display features dual 2W stereo speakers, and connectivity options include DisplayPort 1.2 and HDMI inputs.

ASUS Extreme Low Motion Blur Sync (ELMB SYNC) technology enables a 1 ms response time (MPRT), and G-SYNC compatibility eliminates ghosting and tearing for sharp gaming visuals with high frame rates. The G-SYNC compatibility enables VRR (variable refresh rate) by default. The display features Flicker-free technology and a blue light filter. The unit is compatible with HDR10 high dynamic range for color and brightness levels that exceed the capabilities of ordinary monitors. An ergonomically stand is designed to offer swivel, tilt, and height pivot adjustments.

ASUS Extreme Low Motion Blur Sync
Motion blur reduction and adaptive-sync can be enabled at the same time via ASUS Extreme Low Motion Blur Sync (ELMB SYNC). ELMB SYNC is G-SYNC compatible, allowing gamers to enjoy sharp, high-speed frames.
165 Hz Refresh Rate
A 165 Hz refresh rate decimates lag and motion blur to give you the upper hand in first person shooters, racers, real-time strategy, and sports titles. This ultrafast refresh rate lets you play at the highest visual settings and lets you react instantly to what's onscreen.
Multi HDR Mode
Multiple HDR modes to adjust monitor HDR performance based on the current viewing scenario.
Shadow Boost
ASUS Shadow Boost technology clarifies dark areas of the game without overexposing brighter areas, improving overall viewing while also making it easier to spot enemies hidden in dark areas of the map.

Terrible image retention

I bought this monitor a few years ago & I for a couple months I had a good time with it, everything worked great. However, after like 6 months severe image retention started to happen and the previous screen would appear almost as a burnin after it sitting there for more then 5 minutes. Don’t buy this monitor.

All corners of the display panel cilcks when you push at it. It feels like buttons. Especially Left and right bottom corners. Is this normal? Or defective?

All corners of the ASUS VG27AQ 27" 16:9 QHD IPS Gaming Monitor should be firmly secured on the frame. This can possibly be a defective unit.
