Godox 85mm Lens for Projection Attachment Reviews
Cheap, but it does work.
My thoughts on the SA-01, 85mm f/2.8 lens for the Godox Projection unit SA-P. It is cheap. There is no focusing ring, no lens mount, no iris, no filter ring, and no magnetic gel mount. There is no zoom lens offered only 2 other lenses, the SA-02, 60mm and SA-03, 150mm. To focus the lens, a tubular double barrel telescopic fiction tube is used with thumb screws. Problem it bends from its own weight when extended, therefore keeping the lens straight can be an issue. I give the lens a GRADE C using the (A-F school grades used in the U.S.). It works but lacks design and quality. Suggestions: 1. Design a better and interchangeable lens mount, maybe a T-mount so camera lenses could also be used. Or like the Kodak slide projector lenses with gears and zooms. 2. Support gels and filters with a magnetic mount like the Godox V2 round flash. I dislike using tape to attached gels so 1950ish. and since the lens is non-magnetic I cannot use the V2 filter mount, Magmod, or any of my own magnets. Very poorly designed.
