The Godox SA-06 iris outside case metal in non-magnetic, the inside blades are magnetic. The blades are extremely fragile, Do Not Touch is the watchful word. The unit came in a simple cardboard box, too bad there is no plastic case like filters come with for protection. When stored and handled, open the blades to protect them. The fully adjustable motion controlling the opening goes from a maximum opening of 2 (50mm), to a minimum opening of 2mm. The iris does not closed completely. The motion of the blades are smooth. There are 18 blades that comprise the iris, which gives an almost perfect circle when projected by a light source. The viewer will hardly notice it is not a perfect circle. This iris is a useful accessory to the Godox projection unit for which it is design for. If you need adjustable aperture control then this is the item for you. Suggested improvements: protection case, and fully closable iris.
