Sound quality is huge for 3" woofers. Exactly what we were expecting. Plugged in ready to roll.

Great Sounding Desktop Set

I have been using the Mackie SRM Series Studio monitors in my recording studio and home sound system for years, and did not expect this set to sound as good given the price point. I was pleasantly surprised with how good this set really sounds. If you feed them a quality audio source, they sound great. If you plug them into a cheap sound source, not so much. I like that these have multiple unbalanced and balanced input jacks. Keep in mind that these are near field monitors, so the correct placement on your desktop is necessary to realize the potential sound quality.

Affordable mixing!

I bought these on a recommendation from a friend, and I am super satisfied with how these sound. The white color fits well in my room, and the size is perfect for my desk. The sound is surprisingly flat, with a little bit of a low mid boost that I've noticed. My room isn't treated, however, so that could be the result of that. Going from mixing on headphones to mixing on these is game changing. I don't think I quite understood what soundstage meant until I listened to the Mackies. I highly recommend!

Bad hiss (white noise) but otherwise ok.

Just received these. Plugged in power and connected the second speaker. Turned the main speaker on and there was hiss at all volume levels with no inputs connected. Not acceptable for my purposes. Since others have reported that these speakers are great then my guess is either I got a faulty set, bad QC, or possibly substituted components due to supply issues causing less than ideal performance. I've purchased at least 5 Mackie CR series speakers in the past and none of the other sets had this issue. The speakers sound good otherwise, and if I was to use the speakers at a distance farther than 4 feet I probably wouldn't worry about it since the hiss is a constant level (not affected by volume knob) as the hiss would blend in with the background. In my case the speakers are about 2.5 feet from me in normal use so the hiss is noticable at low volume level and is annoying/distracting. I will be returning, but I'm posting this as a recommendation to check your speakers right away to make sure everything is as expected so that if you do have issues you can return them inside the return window.

Is it 50w amp per speaker for 25w to each speaker?
Asked by: Las
From the rating in the manual, I cannot tell, but it is interesting the rating is in PEAK rather than P-P or RMS. another clue is the power consumption, which is 60W. So, without anything definitive from the mfr, I would say that rating would be 25W PEAK per ch. These speakers are the ones I use in several of my studios. They sound great and work well. Granted, the studios are smallish, with ~ 150sqr ft and 8 ft acoustic ceilings.

Are they good speaker for stage piano

Are they good speaker for stage piano
Asked by: Joseph
If by 'stage piano' - you mean for live performance use, the Mackie CR3X would not be ideal for that application. The Mackie CR3X is more ideal for listening to your recordings and mixing in a room or a small studio.
