Does this work with moving coil cartridges?

Does this work with moving coil cartridges?
Asked by: AUBREY
Typically moving coil cartridges have a much lower output than moving magnet cartridges and require different amounts of amplification. Since there is no available switch between the two levels and at this price, it most likely would not work for low output moving coil cartridges. It would only work with moving magnet cartridges or high output moving coil cartridges.

question

Just purchased and received. I'm using as instructed for a turntable preamp. What's the deal with the high volume at low levels, increased hum and distortion? FyiThe receiver is equipped with turntable / phono set up if that's the potential problem?
Asked by: Anonymous
If the receiver has an input labeled PHONO or TURNTABLE , then the Rolls VP29 Phono Preamp will be unnecessary and will definitely degrade the signal if connected.

does this work with mc (moving coil) cartridges?

does this work with mc (moving coil) cartridges?
Asked by: AUBREY
The specs do not mention that this phono preamp will work with moving coil cartridges, but the Music Hall Mini Phono Amp, BH #MUMINI is for Hi-Output Moving Coil Cartridges, as well a moving magnetic cartridges.

question

Can I hook turntable to input of Rolls, then output of Rolls into input of my ASUS Gamer and record on Roxio, or will I need an amp?
Asked by: Anonymous
Yes. Once you have your turntable going into the preamp the signal coming out will be hot to use for recording without any other amplification.

question

What does it mean if the light won't turn on?
Asked by: Anonymous
I don't believe this has a light. Make sure it is grounded to turntable or receiver if phono has no ground.
